Any time you go adjusting the fuel on these engines it is best to install a pyromoneter to gauge the Exhaust Gas Temps. I always ran mine right up there and ran the crap out of it. I could get a lot of speed and a lot of power to haul a tagalong trailer and a APC. Eventuallyl I busted the...
One knuckle below the fill plug. Or just fill it up."till it barfs, put the plug back in" and let the next guy change the seals as necessary. Along with cleaning the brakes form all the oli that soaks them.
If it don't have a body on it, it isn't a Dump. Best thing to do, would be put a fifth wheel on it and a trailer plug and re name it an M52. You already have the spare tire rack and tool box for it. The PTO could be used for a winch on the front, unless that is gone too.:nothingfunny:
Removal of the powerpack greatly facilitates any work on the steering box. The powerpack litterly takes minutes to remove if you have a lifting device. Of course life is sooo much easier with a wrecker. Work on these trucks always requires the removal of something else before you can work on...
Check out Ken Kublo over in Brackney Pa. He is a SS Member and one of the finest dealers around. Some one here would have his number, I just can't find it right now.
Just be sure to use Oak. anything else will snap at the bed.I tried to do it on the cheap and I wound up havig to buy wood twice. The oak held up better until I got metal troop seat frames. I cut them apart and with metal, everything is fine.
I picked up some tires a Ft Dix las year. They were very helpful. Spoke with Arnez verthau. 609-562-2716. I was going through my phone book and getting ready to delete it when I saw your post. You live too far away for me to be of any help like transportation.
It may be easy to do but you can't beat the covers made by Jatonka or New life Canvas. They will hold up to rugged use and remain serviceable for a long time. Do it right.
I don't see the problem here at all. I've recovered several trucks the same way. all you need is a charged cell phone, some beer and ice and a sense of adventure. It does help if you are traveling through Guntruck territory. I broke down in Knoxville Tenn. and along came Bud Whitehead from the...
Drum lock disengaged, every thing else in neutral and hook the cable to a strong veicle and pull it untill it frees itself. I' m thinking you have an over wound drum and the cable has pinched itself.
Just do like one particular previous owner of one of my trucks did. Any unwanted holes he found, he just covered them with duck tape and spray painted OD over them. he closed up a lot of holes that way. It worked really well until I tried to mash the dimmer switch, which wasn there. ( the guy...
I'd check the Jack shaft. Lube it up well first and watch it with the tunnel off and the engine running as you go around the block. I'm not sure how you could put the clutch in backwards and still get the whole thing back together so I would skip right to the Jack saft.
I've operated/owned all three models. M62,M543,and m816. Only the M62 had a pioneer rack that I can recall. I seem to recall a pioneer rack on the side of the boom between the screen on the operator cab and the boom. I think that was on the 62. I don't recall any racks on 543's or m816's. I...
When you get bored, You get cheap, and buy stuff at Home Depot. When you get cheap, you paint your deuce with house paint. Don't get bored in the first place. :deadhorse:
It is cheaper to have soldier #2 to handle thr rigging on the ground. And as we get older (like Me) it is easier to just stay in the seat and push the levers and let the kids do the jumping around. I f you need a remote contolled boom, maybe the best thing would be to mount a knuckleboom on a...
Hey Gimpy, I have an A2 here at the shop that has a slight shimmy at about the same speed. Goes away if I push it above fity/fifty five. I'm not sure about adjusting the shims on the king pins, I've never done that. I think if I do one side, I have to do the same thing on the other side? Is...
