I should be so lucky. If it ain't smoking, it ain't running. Two things you can't do with a deuce is; One. Sneak up on someone's position with out them hearing you comming. and two, Runaway with out leaving a smoke trail.:driver:
Did you try just using one lever at a time. Like boom up/down untill the oil gets into ever thing and then move to the next one? The air has to get out of all the lines you replaced and they are big, so it takes some time. I'm thinking that with all the water in the gear housings, that thing...
I'm gonna go right down to NAPA and get me one of the new shocks. I'm fat enough to make the seat bottom out when I drive over an Expansion joint going over bridges. My ass hurts all the time anymore. Oh, for a happy hind end.
Yep, as far as El Chaepo Horbor Freight goes, I like the 20 ton bottle jacks for the deuces. They work okay and are cheap enough if they start leakiing. I paint them up OD and they stow just fine.
You have a bad ground.Plain and simple. It could be a broken wire or a pinched wire or a loose connection. But it is still a bad ground and it is on the left side 'cause it is only affecting the left side light. Good Luck
The difference between the price they paid for a vehicle and the price they sell it for is depreciation. Nothing more. They bought the vehicles for a specific use, when they are finished with them, they become excess. They are simply scrap to them. We get a bargan and hopefully many more years...
I heard that they are no good in snow cause they don't heat up and melt it as you run down the road. Is that true? If that is so, I would avoid them and just add a set of aux lights. My trucks are just for summer use now. I like to keep them under cover during the harsh winter months. Then...
I never checked the MPG on my deuces and now I only have five tons to worry about. If I was getting any thing over five in the five tons, I would be happy. Actually, I am happy just tooling around in anything green.:cookoo:
Welcome to the site. Anything you need to know about any Mil. Vehicle can be obtained from JATONKA. Just go to his site. He won't steer you wrong.:jumpin:
Tried to blow my horn to tell a friend that I was in his driveway this morning, -----nothing happened. Looks like it may just be the right time to make that mod on my M54. I would like to keep the original horns just for when I don't want to scare the cr-- out of any one though. I think a...
Just be careful of who is operating whatever you are using to load it. An old (very old) friend of mine used his bucket loader and a chain to put one in my pickup and almost tore the side off the truck. I do my own loading and unloading now.
The best source for canvas green tarps is New life Canvas, Hands down. Lately I've been using the vynl one piece cargos covers in the camo. I like them even better than canvas. They are lighter and the military has stopped using canvas .So unless you need canvas to be period corect, I would go...
Looks like plenty of room to add a muffler between the cab and cargo area, why not just extend the stack up? Those fumes are rough on anyone in the back and the higher the exhaust pipe , the better the breathing for those behind the cab.
Sounds like the small lube line from the engine to the IP let go. Its difficult to see and harder to replace. I has lots of pressure behind it and it will empty your oil res fast
I'm pretty sure that moving the front axel five inches forward is gonna cause you clearance issues with the diff and the oil pan. There is areason for the hump in the oil pan. We grind the rivets off flush with the steel and punch them out with a good air chisel and point. Pop clean out and...
Not to hijack a thread, but I have a deuce with a shimmy that comes along at forty/fortyfive MPH. Not reall sever, but I'm not sure on front end adjustments. I Jacked up the front end off the ground and can't feel anything loose. A heavy greasing seems to help but it is short lived. I am...
