We took the Untouchable to the USAHCand Museum over the weekend. We wer joined by Satans Lil Angel. the weather was beautiful for the two day event. Rod Keckler and Wayne Dobos and Edd pavlic and I were in attendance along with Dave Coward and Bill Parks who bought his 124 Trans Deuce...
I tried taking the windshield bracket off and knew I would loose the bolts. I thought , What the Heck, I'll put a nutssert in the hole. and just put new bolts in it. Didn't work, ended up removing the heater. I am not that flexable any more. Job took two days:beer:
You sure are a dedicated Veteren, Maybe dumb as a rock, but I'm sure everyone thinks we all are dumb to be so attached to our toys. I salute you for standing your ground. However if you see that guy with that fist full of cash running ariund again, Please, please post his card here on this site...
Jasonic, That is exactly what I have been talking about ever since I started on this site.Yours look no diferent than any I have examined. I am positive it is because the silicone fluid keeps the water seperated so well that it eventually builds up in the cylinders. The hydraulics have...
Yep, fuel out, air in, it won't stat till its full of fuel. When you do get it sorted out, order a set of spin on filters from JATONKA. and get er done
With a long bed truck, You could slide a com shelter in it and still have deck area at the rear. That could be covered for shade or rain protection and still do your cooking with out ever stepping down to ground. All your necessary junk could be stoed on the back for a perfect camper...
When I drive the Untouchable through town, everyone seems to get out of my way. Same thing on the highway, however since we put the pyro on it, I can't get the speed I used to get so I am limited to the right lane and the occasional Schneider truck
How about using the roller from a five ton winch. Same frame dimensions. Might even bolt on to the bottom of the winch. Damage to the bumper can be avoided by not realing the cable all the way in and getting it tangled aroung the bumper. Always use two people duting the winch operation. and...
We have a hood that sat too long and spread out like you said. Fixed it with a ratchet strap. Just put it around the widest part we could slip it to and wound it down. Gave it a couple extra cranks just to over spring it and its back to perfect.
Of all the issues we have found with brakes on Deuces and Five ton trucks, It has always come down to removing the wheels and rebuilding or replacing the wheel cylinders. All the pressure that is supplied by the MC/ Airpac will move the pistons in the wheel cylinders but the return springs...
Carlisle has a lot to offer, with the Army Heritage Museum,War College. A huge fairgrounds. Lots of hotels. Plus it is a fery MV fiendly area. I'd go. Sussex gets bigger every year and Gilbert is always a superb show. Aberdeen may just be past its time.2cents
Good fences make good neighbors and keep the thieves out by making them work harder. In my place once you get untangled from climbing the fence, You have to get past the dogs. I got three dogs. Two labs and one punter but the little mutt sure makes up for his lacl of size.
Driver said his deuce can haul twelve fully equiped army troops. But he can haul sixteen fully equiped marines. I asked him how he could do that? Simple he said,Load twelve marines in the back and drive twenty feet and slam on the brakes. You can now load four more in the back. Don't forget the...
Jeff's M52,painted with the Gillespie 24087 looks really good. Are you going to restore it or jsut play with it? I'd loose those ten-ton mirrors. They stick out way to far. They will cause you a lot of aggrivation when you are in tight places. Any way it looks great so far.
Yep, that is what I had to do to my deuce engine. Bjorn sure puts out good advice. I was surprised that it can really mess with your day. A little cleaning and careful reassembly and you are good to go.
They still ain't no tie down points. That is what those ringy things hanging on the bumper are for. And I still don like not "x"ing the chains but it seems we had this discussion. BTW I rigged many vehicles to RR cars back in the day. Never heard about loosing one either.
Check the free play in the plunger that controlls the hydraulics to the hoist. I found mine was sticking and badly out of adjustment I had to crawl under the truck and manually push it up to get the oil flowing and then pull it down toe get the body down
