    Handle looking things on frame??

I told ya, that is my story and I'm sticking to it. If it was on an assembly line, me thinks it may have been some sort of rotiserie that the frame was attached and the hand hold were to rotate it. That was my understanding. And that was way before my drinking age.

    Handle looking things on frame??

Sorry, but I asked that question while in Mech School and an instructor told us they wer used during the manufacture of the frame and chassis. Wver notice how on some trucks the paint runs are upside down. that is because they built the boggies and springs and then had to flip the assembly...

Well I did it, stuck Deuce

It don't look that bad, There has to be someone near by with at least a deuce to bail you out.Just looks like you need a little weight behind that bogger and even it would do the trick. You arn't all alone on the recovery are you? At the very least you need soldier number two and now that is...

I checked out my brother who was a coastie between Korea and Vietnam, He was stationed in NY harbor, on a garbage scow, I think. He only remembers civilian pickup trucks painted grey. He can't remember any marking on them. Have to check with SRJeeper.

    Coat flange gasket w/ grease

Yep, I was gonna say that was the purpose of greasing one side. That way you will be able touse it again but if it gets torn and you get lazy about making a new one, just use RTV in its place. That is the one place I feel safe using RTV. and it works just fine.

im a little confused as to what my truck is

You did very well. The five tons are very strong inspite of what some say. I think you got a very good deal puls it sounds like you already made enough in rent to have more than payed for it. Even if you scap it and use the cash fro a nice deuce you're way ahead.

Multifuel Engine life - the facts from Uncle Sam

I read all 9 pages and DD definately knows his stuff. But I would respectfully submit that the manual for the multifuel engine states very clearly that the engine is " medium duty" engine. That being said, What these trucks, particularly the five tons were performing way more than what could...

How to improve MPG of LDS 465 1A engine

I don't know what damage running 1400 did to your engine, But I ran mine at that temp and first thing that let go was the govenor in the IP and then # three piston got a hole the size of my little pinky burned through it and aluminum melted all over the main bearings and completely wiped the...

    Deuce gun rack in cab

I'm a little older than some but when I was in Nam, we only had M14's in the trucks. It was parked in the left rear corner behind the seat. It was really hard to get to. especially while trying to stay on the roads which at that time really sucked. It was a safe place for the weapon but...

    wrecker accessory

All that is needed now is a grab bar or two on the operator cab so you have something to hold on to as ya climb in. I can't stop looking at it. It really is impressive.

    wrecker accessory

Great job, walking along the side rail especialy when it is raining or snowing always concerned me. Now more than ever as we all age, your mod should be a requirement for all wreckers. The fold up is genius. Like JT said, I wouldn't want to pirate your invention, would you consider making a few...

    My first Deuce

If by three piece, do you mean it is canvas? w/ end cutains and a top? If so, them\n install the end curtains first by threading the rope through the gromets and around the front bow and then repeat for the rear bow but don't tie off the rear rope or you won't be able to get out of the...

Naive question...What do you do with your Deuce?

I used to go to Home Depot just to tie up their loading area but that got boring. Then I went back to real lumber yards but I was loosing too much time because of the crowds around it and then again passing out the gate. I use any one of my deuce or five tons for Guntruck Gatherings...
