    Circulating Tank Block Heater Installed

Tank Heater This is how I installed the heater. I have valves on both ends of the heater loop. It just simplifies maintenance. Certainly, you don't have to turn it off, when you run the truck, but if you spring a leak, you can turn it off, to finish the run. The second hose/valve, is the...

    Replacement leaf springs for M101A1

If your taking the axle out, you don't have to drop the spring pack, to do the replacement, assuming that its blocked safely. Just clamp it and take out the center bolt to replace the leaves. That spring pack is all you will ever need. They give a good smooth ride and will take all kinds of...

    Replacement leaf springs for M101A1

Spring pack If its not the top leaf with the eyelets, Then take it apart and replace it with another leaf from some other spring pack with the same thickness & width. If its too long, cut it to the appropriate length, etc. Keep in mind that the center bolt hole might be offset, front or back...

Looks to be some kind of fuel fired heater - interesting. Did you try to Google it? Welcome to the Site. Somebody will probably chime in that can ID it.

    Went to Mow the Grass

At 1st, I couldn't remember what the PP7 valve is - sure, it controls the TPV! But there is NO WAY, that I was going to have a red knob in Medusa. I have far too many good salvaged black knobs, but they screw on. Most of the PP7's use a roll pin - I found one that threads, but don't remember...

    Went to Mow the Grass

Back in the Old Days, I put a trolly brake valve on my 211 tractor & have thought about them alot. The trailer & Deuce brakes are nicely balanced now. When I did the brakes on the Deuce, I re-used all the shoes on the rear axles, because they had virtually no wear. Maybe when I get my List...

    Went to Mow the Grass

The gauges work "pretty good", but but weren't close to the top of the list. I run a hot thermostat, hottest available, and there is not much room between boiling, and just running. Just so its not boiling. I'll bet your right about the grounds & will attend to it when I have the dash out next...

    Went to Mow the Grass

Along about the middle of July, I got things together to go up to Central, where I've had a cabin for 40 some years. Its been a dozen years since I have been there, and thought the grass might need mowing by now. As it was, I found 5" trees in the driveway. Its pretty remote, so I had to take...

    R-2 crash truck

They are completely different! That is a very rare truck, in the condition, that it appears to be in. Altering it in any way would be a shame.

    M135 winch

The brackets aren't too bad to make. But it takes special bolts to mount it.

    Bad battery

Check them about monthly. If they're below about 12.5 V, put a low charge on them. The lowest my charger goes is 2 amps, if your doing it individually (you don't have to disconnect them, to do this). I don't remember what my 24V charger's lowest setting is, but its about the same. Keep the...

    Bad battery

Don't give up on the old batteries. 6 years is not too old. I have two pairs of 6TL's going strong at 12 years.

    002 or 003 for 3.5 Ton A/C Unit?

Just about every variable in power generation imaginable has been layed out - even doing nothing. Only you can decide. But you live on a farm (have expressed interest in a MEP), have a stash of fuel, and claim that you are not handyman. That is sorta-of a hard sell with me. You have to be...

    M135 Advice please.......................??

All those springs didn't get weak &/or break. I said it before, reversing those shoes will do it, but you should be able to feel the heat, if you drive it a little more, on the offending wheel end. You can't hit the brakes, without a drum on - you will blow the piston out of the cylinder. If...

    M135 Advice please.......................??

Your truck won't care about the oil, as long as its full of it. Use it up. Brake drums are cast iron & they can get surface rust overnight in damp conditions. I guess that the drums weren't turned, nor that the lining was new, and maybe you mixed up the shoes when you did the service, or even...

I'm aware of all the pros & cons BUT when its crunch time, the 003 is going to shine!

    Wiper Motor Screws

Just off hand, I think the thread size is 10/32. Mostly, they used brass nuts. If you get them an inch long, then you can cut them off. Maybe the bracket was threaded, and they didn't use nuts (CRS), but I think the thread size is correct.
