All four rear brakes sometimes leak even when brakes not pressed.

The only pressure there would be to the Spring Brake side & they should not leak at all. Are they permanently sealed, or do they have removable clamps? In any case, there are real mean springs inside those cans, and you need to know what your doing, before messing with them. A picture and...

    Old style head gaskets

The way you Guys talk, blowing a head gasket is immanent. Is that true? Is there that much of a problem? Is the latest generation in gaskets, the one to have? Source?

    Survival 109 build

When I was a Kid, all the truckers had their driving lights, mounted low (below the drivers, line of sight). Today, you see them, mounted all over. Having a couple million in OTR driving - you want the driving lights low. Otherwise, snow, dust, fog, rain, is illuminated in the drivers line of...

    Newbie with MEP-003 Questions

Clean is CLEAN! Many would say its not possible to clean the open fittings, without contaminating them, and no telling, what is already down inside them. You have so many. I would do some quick addition. Your real close to it being practical to look for another machine, either a doanner, or...

    winch mounting bolts for M35A2

They were the same on the M211/235 - shouldered. I once made a set, by turning them down on a lathe, & rethreading them.

Prepping to buy a Deuce for farm use. Couple Questions..

Forgot to mention, when commenting about the tractor, be sure to get a set of forks for it. They always put buckets on them (they are handy too), but the forks are what you will use mostly. Then collect some good pallets - I made a couple of pallet boxes to haul tools around with. As said...

Prepping to buy a Deuce for farm use. Couple Questions..

Get a Deuce Get the bigger tractor & the Deuce -- you'll be glad you did. You will continually be over using the larger tractor, as it is anyway. As for the Deuce, the sky is the limit - you will INVENT all kinds of jobs for it. And it will haul the tractor just fine. Just be cautious - it...

Prepping to buy a Deuce for farm use. Couple Questions..

Build a dirt ramp at both ends. RR ties & dirt, do wonders. Where you get into trouble with weight is taking away from the steering. The pivot on a Deuce is between the tandems, so watch the overhang. When much younger (& dummer), I once hauled a big load of 16' logs with my old M211. I...

    Platform for an MEP-003a

Here in some of the more remote locations, generators are common, & controlling the environment & vibration, go together. Skipping the shed part, the most elementary vibration control that I have seen, is just setting the generator on an old truck tire. That's sort of funky. I think a concrete...

M923A2 Fan Clutch Repair - Any Clutch Gurus Out There?

If you get a used one, regardless of what the sales pitch is, i'd rebuild it. Sometimes they can go into a free-wheeling mode too. Observe on the front of it, there should be a couple of holes that you can insert a couple of cap screws into, and lock it into fixed rotation/drives all the time...

    Deuce Headache Racks?

Winch Truck Headboard Another winch truck - my old #1 (running when parked). The headboard/winch, is mounted to a small deck, and that is in turn, clamped with U-bolts, to the frame. If much is mounted to the cab body and used much, the body supports will fail. The spare tire mounted above...

Picture of your MEP terminal hook up to house?

I wanted to be able to hook up to anything, anywhere, fast & easy. When you need it most, here, usually its the most uncomfortable times (-50F). I have a pigtail going into the boxes with the plugs/breakers. If I need 120V, I have another cord with GFCI, 20A duplexs, that I plug into the 230V...

Picture of your MEP terminal hook up to house?

Here is mine If you look inside the door, you can see the Transfer switch. This is actually my shop & the power goes from here to my house - both are on one meter. I can power both (with manual load shedding), with the MEP 003. I have it fix for the "long haul" with the 100 gallon Aux tank.

    M101 A2 tire suggestions

I would not change tire size or Load Rating, and also, stay with a LT tire, not a trailer tire. Economizing does has some merit though. Wally World has a less expensive, non brand name tire. Aren't you supposed to narrow down your location a little more?

    M101A2 Wheel Cylinder Bore Size?

What is the bore size, of the wheel cylinder, of the M101A2 series trailers? Was trying to verify the specs. I think its 1 1/8". Right & left as: BP 17-020, & BP 17-030. Hoping that someone could verify this, so I can get the parts coming. The Master cylinder is 1" bore. Threaded end is...

    M109A3 with fuel problems

You can't inspect fuel filters, to see if they are clogged! If you take them out, you change them PERIOD. The primary is a strainer type thing (for the big stuff), - it can be washed out, and replaced. You should carry extra fuel filters with you at all times. If your fuel is contaminated...
