Ah ha interesting thanks, I thought I read somewhere that you do pay a higher tax.. but then again I don't remember paying a higher tax for Motor Oil or ATF..
Thanks!
They are thinking it's Heating Oil which has a red dye as well and that is usually like $1 cheaper a gallon because it doesn't have road tax on it. ATF fluid should have already been taxed when it was originally bought. You should be OK on this. I don't think they can just go by color but...
Yeah sounds like it should be fine. I am not a mechanic but fairly mechanical in knowledge. How difficult is it to change out a clutch? One thing I have never done before.. I recently rebuilt my Airpack & MC and pulled a motor out of a '73 VW Beetle once.. Hoping mine doesn't go any time soon..
Thanks Jonathan! I was debating rivets too but I thought the mounting holes were too large and perhaps the rivets may damage the rubber. It was one of those jobs that you think would be a piece of cake and then WTF??
OK thanks, good to know. I don't plan on doing any off-roading any time soon but if I do I could just take the Jerry can off.. I think it will look good mounted behind the cab.. and I will at least use it to seal up one or two of the holes already there but may need to drill one more..
Yikes, hope you don't work on your feet! The only good thing to come out of it is the pain killers... Hydrocodone is some fantastic stuff.. Hope that's what you got.
Feel & Get better!
Well I do like the height. When I tow my M105 with my Navigator it looks retarded.. But I only do it if I have to and it's a light load since I don't have brakes on the M105 unless I tow it with the Deuce..
I like it but I would have tried to keep both if possible.. But I am sure you probably already tried to do that.. I am so in love with my Deuce.. my wife should be jealous!
OK so I didn't see any posts on this and it was a quick and fairly easy install so I wanted to share it. I mainly wanted to share my tip for bending the pins so they don't fall out.
I bought the kit from Saturn for around $12.50 for the kit, two rubber strips and all the pins that were a pain...
Don't know where you are in PA but I got mine from Kublos, he's in Upper Northeast PA. Got 4 395's for a very reasonable price on stock rims.. Though some people will say they are not safe on stock rims so use your own judgement.. Not sure about Hot highway travel but they are rated for it...
Thanks guys, I was thinking of something along those lines.. I actually have enough room between the cab and the M105 bed to mount a Jerry Can in between. I have about 1-2" clearance between the can and the bed after I install it. I assume that would be enough for any articulation if I went...
Welcome, read up on the TM's to get familiar with what you are getting into. I like this one to get started.. http://test.steelsoldiers.com/upload/M35/PSMultifuelOperator.pdf
People will tell ya all the time to use the search feature before posting a question. Allot of times people run into...
Thanks for asking the question John S-B, my deuce has the same thing. Now I am trying to figure out what is the best way to close them up so more rain won't get in. For now I just covered with black electrical tape
I have the sticker on my M105 as well that there was some sort of rust proofing applied. I was told the rumor that it was similar to bed liner. I don't know if that is accurate. It was probably pretty good stuff that is now probably banned to use for it's environmental properties..
Hmmm I suppose you would still need lubrication. Seeing how you have a newer model mine being a 73 then I suppose you have the "newer Style" I don't know how that one is set up in the back but on mine there is a small plug on the back with a square head. I can just take that out and shoot...
Jeff, that's different then the standard Airpack. I looked through Saturn Surplus and found what they call a Hydrovac, here's a pic. They have a rebuild kit for that as well Part No RN-25-P but it looks like it's currently sold out. What year is your Deuce, I am curious if this is from an...
