Rear hitch on(--> Stacking) M1101 / 1102?
Gents, likely getting back into MV's pretty soon in the form of getting a M1101 trailer. I have searched all I can search, and haven't seen where anyone put a rear receiver on the back of one of these trailers. Is the rear xmember strong enough, or...
I don't think a stuck injector does as much knocking on a mechanical pump engine as on a common rail diesel, but they can knock.
How about crawling underneath and checking to make sure all the flywheel to torque converter bolts are still there??? I forget if there's three or 4 on a M1009...
I believe those wheels came on the dolly's that are used on each end of a conix box to make it towable. They find their way on to deuces occasionally. They are not "new style" deuce wheels.
Hmm. Can't seem to find a picture of the dollies...

Oop, found one, but it's a little...
You need a 700R4 flexplate too, it's different than the 400 plate. And you have to do some wiring for lockup. Reortedly, t can be wired to just lock up in 3-4 pretty easily, though I haven't gotten to that part yet...
If you're swapping a 700R4 into an M1009, you'll also most likely need new...
What kinda cool stuff did you buy now, Lane??? And where are you putting all the stuff you've gotten?? Better be careful or we'll start a Michigan "Underground Airplane Hanger" story about your backyard!! :)

Do a search. I recommend that if you don't want to go to 8 lug hubs, you go with a 90's 14 bolt semi-floater, or a late 70's 12 bolt semi floater. Both can be had in the 6-bolt pattern to match your front axle, and both should end up widening the rear track to be closer to the front, which is...
I got one for $25 at a u-pull it type yard. I yanked the zipper, sat in the middle of the seat, put my feet on the top of the inside of the windshield, and pushed. It popped right out. Once it was loose, I stood on the hood and lifted it free. :)
Reused the seal that was already in my...
Just a thought, but I'd bet that the requirement on FMTV is potentially due more to the relatively tall vehicle profile than any aspect of the tires. when I worked for Oshkosh, we didn't have any wording about not using lower pressures on sidehills, and we were running mostly 16.00 XML...
I did the same with my deuce on my house, and then my neighbors. took about an hour for me to empty the shingles by myself, as I didn't have a chained pallet in the front of the truck either time and had to toss them out by hand...
I have the dump hoist, and pump now... Just got to get...
Nice!! Much better than the tiny pic on my cell phone! those wheels really look good with the lift and tires and truck... Aren't you glad you got them? :)
Were did you find mud around here, puddle alongside a dirt road? :)
Glad you're happy with it!
For those of you wondering, the...
If you can "preveiw" that easily, it might be in your best interest to go for a "preview" immediately after winning a vehicle, such that you can padlock any loot to the truck. Just get some cheapo padlocks and chain and go to down!!!
That might keep the honest thieves honest at least... :)

I ran WMO (filtered to 10 micron via hydraulic oil filters) in my 6.5L. At 40% WMO, the optical eye in the electronic IP would be confused on startup, resulting in crappy running until I re-keyed the truck. Never had the problem on lower concentrations, so I would dump 5 gal WMO in at a 30...
I think you might want to consider spacing the bump stop down an inch or so... If you measure between the stop and the axle, and the sway bar parked and the bracket it pins into, you'll find the measurements about the same, and the bumper will compress about an inch, whereas the brackets just...
I have a friend who lives in Holt. We're checking our calendars to see what we're gonna do that weekend. If either of us are around, we'll probably join in the fun!

Skinny 33's, on stock wheels. (255/85R16) With VERY minor trimming to get rid of the sharp edges at the front and rear of the front fenders, a wider tire or wider wheel will be ok, so long as the backspacing stays reasonable. Even with lift, you'll probably have to trim a little of the...
Wow. Beanman1, unless you replaced EVERY panel on that truck, you do EXCELLENT body work!! I would be afraid to gloss any of the 1008's that I've seen, and my body work isn't that bad... They are just so dented up it's impossible to get them to look that straight!!
Excellent work, and...
This is the right question. These trucks do not have disposable garbage rotors like trucks do now. That rotor looks really good, and has plenty of material left for a turning to true it up if it's in need. Any good auto parts store (NAPA, CarQuest, etc) should be able to turn those for you...
Yup. batteries don't car about being submerged for the most part. Especially sealed batteries, but for the level of submersion we're talking about here, not big deal. The rest of the truck, now that is another problem entirely. Lots of raised vent lines, intake, etc would be required...
Now for sale!
Ok, I don't have time to mess with this thing right now, and it deserves better than to sit out in the weather for a year while I clear out some other projects.
I just put it in the classifieds: 1955 M38A1 Michigan $1200 - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite
