Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

I hope any changes or new information will be posted here. Montana is a friendly state to hmmwv's and has included them in the dmv wording to be sure they are allowed on the road. That is irrelevant to what is trying to be done here in Michigan with a historical plate other than to point out...

I believe that's what I posted pictures of. It was a PDF file but I couldn't get it to save and transfer. That is of the changes.

    Moving the seat belt roll

I actually didn't look at that photo very well the first time I saw it, I see what you are trying to do now. I was thinking about if there was any safety concerns in an accident. I'm not sure if it would pull the belt any different with pressure, I doubt it? I personally don't like the looks...

    Moving the seat belt roll

I'm not sure why you are moving it? I had trouble with my green belts being too short. I flipped the seat belt bracket in the b pillar upside down to help with my issue. Then after some research I found the black seat belts were longer. I flipped the brackets back over and replaced both...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

I believe it does say all military vehicles. It specifically includes but states not limited to. My truck has a 4" lift, custom pretty much everything, a 383 stroker I dynoed at 511 hp and 496 lf lbs of torque. I've been to a lot of car shows and seen the plate on a wide range of street rods...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

What am I missing? This allows the option to obtain a historic military vehicle specific plate. Where in this amendment does it state all military vehicles must turn in the title for a historic title and all future titles will be historic? In Wisconsin you can get the same version of a...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

This is an amendment to an already existing Michigan historical vehicle plate that will now include military vehicles as defined. Your vehicle must be 25 years or older to apply for a "historic" plate no matter what it is. This is an amendment to include not a new bill. I have two...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

I'd like to keep this thread alive, any updates or new comments from Michigan people would be appreciated. I'd like to ask or clarify that if this becomes an option to obtain a military collector plate, and I have a military vehicle that is normally eligible for a standard plate (before the...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

The confusion for me was if it was issued in error by another state. That's why I called and questioned it. In Indiana it was ok, the seller titled and plated by the process allowed in Indiana. No error was made in that state. And understand my confusion because if the hmmwv came from the 99...

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

No letter, I was told I can not appeal it. I asked what law I was in violation of and I quote from the main Lansing sos office, "I don't need to know the law, I just need to know there is a law.". She made it abundantly clear there would be no discussion about it.

Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

I just want to re-post what happened to me. I called the SOS to clear up the confusion I had when I wanted to buy a hmmwv. I wanted to know if I purchased an M998 that was already issued an on road title out of state if I could transfer the title to Michigan. The truck I was looking at being...

Her's a photo for reference, think they just assumed the missing letter than? Doesn't look like room for it.

    Michigan Title Issue

Michigan Title warning It's no surprise Michigan will not issue an on road title, or an assembled vin for any hmmwv. However it wasn't clear to me if they would allow an existing on road title to be transferred to Michigan. If you work before and after the Lansing secretary of state office...

Anyone know how to find what GHOK stands for?

I've exhausted my search efforts and not coming up with anything. It's painted in stencil right above the drivers door vehicle tag. Excuse me if I'm totally ignorant to it's meaning, just cuious. Thanks.
