    M998 seatbelt adjustment

I took it out and looked like there was some extra holes to clear either side of the 2 man top tabs rivets. I didn't have a problem installing it the other way around and fits so much better. (not cutting into my neck) I really need to invest in some high back seats, just too low in the truck.

    M998 seatbelt adjustment

Any issues flipping over the seat belt attachment to lower the belt? It seems too high.

    M1008 class 4 hitch install

I wanted a heavier hitch because of my 1031 box a goose neck will never be an option. I never put the spare back under like I wanted to try because I went with larger tires and I now know my new spare will not fit so I never tried. I still wonder if the stock tire would but it will do me no...

    Tiny Tach is in!

It reads lo v for low volts. Mine does the same thing but only when it's cold as you said.

    Tiny Tach is in!

There are a couple of studs on the intake that it will reach that are the same size as the factory end on the tiny tack. Mine seamed to reach the second one back better than the front one where the engine ground is.

    M1031 backup camera

I installed a two camera backup system in my 1031 today. I can't see much behind it and angle parking seems to be just about imposible to back up from. Has an extra port for a dvd player and camera's come with built in microphones. They have infared lights that shine 50 feet. Love it. Pointed...

    Tiny Tach is in!

I poped out the gromet for the speedometer cable into the engine bay and cut a slit in it from edge to center. then sent the wires through and poped the gromet back in.

Fuse Block Question - Where to pull power?

At trips to the scrap yard I have found a lot of factory connectors pluged into the ignition slots on civi trucks in the same era. I'll cut 5" or so of wire off and unplug them. Most of the time I try to pay the yard says just take them. I like to solder my fuse holder right to that wire. It...

    Alternator issue = Very frustrated!

I didn't take the time to read this whole thread but had to add this. I bought a wilson alt from napa and burnt up my truck. Turns out they were selling isolated ground alts that really were not. It's a simple continuity check from the ground screw to the case to be sure it's isolated, I didn't...

    Tiny Tach is in!

I installed my tiny tach today, just thought I would throw some numbers out there. Not sure it's accuracy but at idle I'm 670rpm and 636 in drive at idle. Using my gps at 55mph i'm at 2850rpm and about 2620 at 50, varries a little bit, hard to hold the gps at a perfect speed and pay attention...

    M1008 class 4 hitch install

I think a class 3 hitch is rated for 5,000 gtw 500 tounge with ball and with distribution bars 7500 total trailer wieght and 750 tounge. This one is a class 4, class 5 was the way I wanted to go and much bigger hitch with more rating but I wanted one to fit inside the factory brackets. I'm not...

    M1008 class 4 hitch install

Just put a hitch on today. I did a lot of measuring to find a hitch that would fit inside the factory brackets. I ordered this hitch from my local hitch shop and it's made in Michigan no shipping fee for around $170. I dedided to cut the bottom lip off the factory support brackets and after...

    Steering Column Removal - M1009

In the engine bay on the firewall you will see two 15 mm nuts on a half stap with studs on it at the base of the column. Usually covered in goop to prevent rust. That will hold enough tension to hang up the column. If you loosen those it should come down.

M1028 Water in cab problem .

The air vent flap is decently protected from a plastic lip molded around the vent door. They usually don't leak unless you drive fast in heavy water. I wouldn't unless they are really rotted out or for sure leaking from there too. It's almost always the screws and vent seal around the...

M1028 Water in cab problem .

Gm also put a sealant on the screws holding the vent in. If you change the vent seal be sure the screws are sealed too. I just use silicone on mine. If you ever look in a striped out cab it almost looks like they are designed to leak.

    Tiny Tach is in!

I've been thinking about a tach for awhile. I did some more research on this one and I'm sold. Just ordered one. I found a few threads in diesel forums where they were testing the accuracy in shops and only found one report as far off as 5 rpm. Thanks for posting this.

    Experience=Mistakes Made

The big resistor on the firewall reduces the 24v to 12v you said you metered 13v right at the relay. Search for the glow plug removal tool, you will see how it works to remove a swollen plug. You may have had the relay stick on for whatever reason or key left on by accident? Watch this video...
