    m1009 vacuum lines

there is a steel line on the passenger side on the side of the tranny. You will find a short piece of rubber line connecting it to the tranny. It typically goes bad there. I changed all of my hoses and still had the same late shift problem. Mine was corrected by adjusting the modulator on...

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

I took some video of a duce out there a few years back. It was driving in the water holes a lot. I've seen some apc's out there and some military humvee's that the guys from the grayling or lansing base were driving out there. Always fun to see what shows up around there.

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

I was a long way from home so my options were limited. I went to the local Napa near the sand dunes and they had one in stock rated to pull over 10,000lbs so I bought that one. It's a napa brand box. Was able to put it in by taking the grille out. Was glad to see the grille slides out...

    4 bolt Reese hitch

You can find a pitle/ball replacement, I looked into this as well but was way to high to be practical for anything I pull. I ended up puting on a frame hitch. Went very well. I think that's the way to go. Even with a frame hitch I had to use a 3" drop for my small camper. And by the way my...

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

I knew better too, planed on putting a cooler on. Was talking it over the night before I left with a friend and we have both never had issues with similar trucks. I have tranny coolers in most of my trucks but after this weekend that will change to all of them.

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

It was a huge turnout for opening weekend. They were turning non dune ready people away because the parking lot was full. We waited in line for 1 hour and 45 min to get in. Lot of fun. I won't be bulling that trailer much with the M1009, my dune truck is blue and the camper is in the middle...

My first trip to the sand dunes with my M1009

Towed up my little camper about 170 mi to Silver Lake Sand dunes for opening weekend. Just before I got there I overheated the tranny on the bigger hills on the west side of the state. I really didn't think it was enough weight to do that in these temps but I was way wrong. I put in a tranny...

    shifting issue

I had a shifting issue when I bought mine too. Ran real high rpms before it would shift. The hoses were all good but I changed them anyway. No difference. I backed off the two screws on the side of the injector pump and adjusted that modulator and it shifts perfect now and has since.

    Towing

I just set up my M1009 for towing my 15' travel trailer. Put in a frame hitch and brake controller. I don't plan on going fast but will be about 175 mi each way. I plan on getting a tranny cooler too but not in time for my first trip. I'll have to get my trailer weighed but I don't think...

Anyone ever install a nos m1009 rear end?

I needed to do a brake job, lol. Drums $70 ea E brake cables $20 ea Pads $40 Spring kit $10 Wheel cylinders (not sure of price) It also needed a seal on the drivers side because when the brake stuck and I didn't know it, it overheated and leaked gear oil in the brakes. There was the unkown...

In need of M1009 driver side seatbelt

I just went out to take a pic and realized I locked my keys in it  I guess I'll deal with that tomorrow somehow. I know it's near where it bolts to the floor behind the rear seat and I also know for sure it's not the same as a truck. Thanks

Anyone ever install a nos m1009 rear end?

My axle came in Friday from Colemans surplus. I would expect some surface rust because gm never painted it. It was still bare steel with some ruberized paint on the diff cover and primer around the brake area. I was surprized how well the brakes looked when I took the drums off. Everything...

In need of M1009 driver side seatbelt

I noticed when I picked up my M1009 the drivers seatbelt had a snag in it about 5 inches long. Today when I flipped the seat forward I noticed it's split in two now. Anyone have a seatbelt I can buy? Thanks

Anyone ever install a nos m1009 rear end?

Have the gear oil waiting and picked up some limited slip additive from gm sat. I was hoping the hard lines were on it. I'll just make some new ones.
