I really wanted this one M916a1

Yep, if it were mine, I would be putting on some bigger/more aggressive tires! I wonder how it would look with 395/85R20 super singles on it?

I bid on it too, but did not get it. Hopefully, there will be more coming along soon!

    M915A1 Super Singles

I just used the wheels and tires I already had. There are probably some better options out there, but I couldn't beat the price on these! Were you running M915 or M915A1? I think the slicks have more speed with the CAT tranny (It must have one or two overdrive gears.) The allison in the...

    M915A1 Super Singles

No, I put the wheels and tires on my M818 for now. Once I bob it and go back to singles, then I might be able to get rid of them. Glad your tractor is up and running!

The FWTD is made by Tru Hitch. They have both civilian and military models.

    M915A1 Super Singles

I guess it depends on what you consider "much difference". About 4" more diameter translates to about 10% increase in speed. My max speed incresed from 63mph to 70mph.

Found some used USA6X6 Rims - any good?

Here is a pic of one. I would think a used set would be a good buy at $100-$150 each.

Found some used USA6X6 Rims - any good?

First of all, do they hold air? Of the 28 wheels I got several years ago, 14 leaked and had to be rewelded!

    M915A1 Super Singles

I love the way the M915A1s drive, but I wanted a little more road speed and a little more attitude. I found both with a set of Goodyear MVT 395/85R20 tires. With the help of Mr. M813A1 on Monday, we swapped over the street duals to the super singles. Wow, what a difference! Aggressive...

Crew cab M35 taking a dump on air

Sweet suspension setup! I have been dreaming of similar for a bobbed 5 ton!

LMTV Rockwell & 5 ton top load rim difference?

The center hole is the same. I think the main difference is the backspacing. CTIS and thickness differences too. I put FMTV wheels on my M818. Here are a few pics.

    Newb - Roll off???

Yeah, the military has done it. Just get a 5 ton bridge truck with cargo pallet (or truck with hooklift system). Here are some pics.

Looks like we have some good input from people with different opinions/approaches. That was my intent for this thread, thanks!
