Your axle placement will depend one how much you cut down your bed. The cheapest way would be to leave the front axle and remove the rear one so you wouldn't have to mod. the driveshaft.
I went to the local junk yard and grabbed a remote clutch reservoir off a honda. I replaced the vent line with a 90% fitting and used the short hose that came with the reservoir. It's great having it now I can check the fluid level everyday before I drive it.
I might put on A/C next year but I think i'll wait to do the 5.9 cummins swap that way I don't have to make all of the brackets. I am going to put on power steering this winter.
No I haven't painted it yet. I think I'm going to wait till spring and then blast and paint it. I've been working on getting it ready for winter. Now I have heat and I got my A3 wipers in. I have put over 3000 miles on it in the last two months now it's nice to have working wipers in the rain!
I had my local alternator shop build me one. I think they used the G.M. si21 case and put the guts to make it 24v. I used the stock mounts plus one more deuce bracket and made up some spacers.
If you still have the 3.08 gears in the diff's it's going to be even more of a dog then it is now. The 10 bolt rear axle is the weak link in the drive train and with 35's you increase your chances for failure. Just my two cents.
