Ok...so while I was trying to punch a hole in my freeze plug, it got driven into the block. I can barely reach it with my fingers and will spend an incredible amount of time cursing if I try to get to it again. However, I need to get it back to the hole and try to remove it.
My question is...
Bruce,
I got your M1009 and I bought Rick Thiers' M1009. He had a new tail gat so I swapped that one onto mine. The photo above is Paul Taylor's M1009.
Here's a pic of my M1009. I've added a rear step bumper, tinted side windows, tinted rear window, tire rack, and a roof rack which is...
If you decide that you want a heavier rear bumper, I've replaced mine and a friend's with an M1008 bumper. I took pictures and wrote a description on how to do it. Welcome to the site!
RE: Anyone in NJ know of good yards for older chevy trucks??
You could try the vintage salvage yard in Jackson on Jackson Mills Road just north of I-195. I've heard he has a lot of old stuff but can be pricy.
RE: carb kit
Kyle,
I got a rebuild kit for a Ford Falcon. It was a close match but not exact. Some of the gaskets were off just a little. The accelerator pump was the same but the needle was different. I replaced what I could but still have a problem of it not running to optimum potential...
Chris & Mike,
Instead of guessing at what the problem might be...Mike, join the Moglist and contact Kai Serrano. I posted the info earlier. He knows his stuff about Mog diesels. You will save a lot of time by seeking out the right people. No offense to you Chris.
It does look like a SEE Tractor but the bed is too big for the backhoe attachement. It shouldn't have the higher troop sides on the bed and should be shorter. Unless it is a dump with that cab protector. The front mounting plate definitely looks like it's for a bucket attachment.
Mike, If you go to Darrin's home page, he has a new wife in the pictures. The last time I talked to him was about a year ago. I think it's been at least two years since he and Andie have been apart.
I keep my stuff up near Allaire airport at a private trucking company. Give Jude Meehan a call. He is into mv's and has a place in Neptune City where he keeps his dumpsters and some mv's. He also rents space out to the right people (other mv owners). 732-528-5422
RE: Re: RE: Ebay motors
I just sold $1600 worth of Unimog stuff I had laying around. This was stuff I bought on eBay years ago. I know I doubled my money and cleaned out part of the garage as well. More stuff needs to go!!!
RE: carb kit
Blake,
Thanks for the info. I was able to get this carb kit. Will be here tomorrow. Hopefully it will work. I had a heck of a time trying to match up numbers to anything for this carb. I did some research and the Ford Falcons had half a dozen different carb numbers. However...
Wow...nice Mog. It's a 416 with the diesel OM352 motor. Looks like a Belgian bed on it and modified for US use. Your best bet for parts would be Expedition Imports. Also, join the Mog mailing list and email Kai Serrano. He is a wiz at Mog diesels.
