It's a hard question to answer without knowing a lot of specifics. Motor starting loads are probably the biggest consideration. Just a few everyday items can quickly use up the extra power you need to start well pumps and motors. For example, a microwave along with your coffee pot and a hair...
Thanks for the responses. I agree that the Champion web page sucks. I sat here looking at the metric thread size scratching my head.
As far as the copper gasket and blade fastener, I would imagine it comes with the gasket, just like every spark plug does. And what you are calling a blade...
When I installed my transfer switch, I connected a 90 db alarm with a on/off switch to the Dominion Power lugs. Normally the switch is off. But when I transfer to generator, I'll switch the alarm on. So when utility power is restored, I'll hear the piezo alarm to know I can transfer back to...
No smoke=no fuel. Maybe an air lock in the fuel line. I would start at the pumps and run them with the low pressure line at the IP disconnected until you get good flow. Then reconnect, prime, glow plug for a minute and try starting again.
Good luck,
John
Those commercial washers aren't cheap. Marketing it would be the hard part but you may be able to sell those to a dry cleaner/laundry business or even a hotel or small uniform business. If an owner had a dying unit that was causing costly down time, having a military grade unit ready to go...

changed as follows:
1. Remove and insert pages as indicated below. Page 1–10.1/(1–10.2 blank) was changed in Change 7;
however, the Change transmittal sheet inadvertently omitted instructions to remove the...
I thought my 003A glow plugs work fine. But I do have a compression problem with my #1 cylinder. So last night I removed the glow plugs and was doing compression tests. I noticed all four of my plugs were marked "Champion CH42".
I also remember seeing the above statement on the GMG parts...
You should take a look at Sewerzuk's video of his PLC controlled 003. You could also have this turn on your exhaust fan at start up and even integrate it with a CO detector (fault) to shut it down since will be enclosed.

Several of the miscellaneous fittings I got were stamped China. But the hose and the connections on the end are marked NRP Jones, which are made in Indiana and Utah.
On a side note, they are predicting a foot of heavy wet snow tonight. So with a little luck, we'll get a good run of the 003...
I kinda wondered the same thing. But after wiring my 200A manual transfer switch, you need all that room. There are two 4/0 SE coming in and a 4 wire #1. Also, I had to be careful to keep the neutrals isolated from the can which is a little tricky with SE since the neutral is not insulated...
Okay, I might get flamed for saying this, but after the sale that had legitimate/ honest intent...why would you stoke a hornets nest?
I would never buy property I had reason to believe may have been stolen or improperly obtained. But after what I concluded was an honest deal, I would take...
That blows that you got crappy stuff from Surplus Center. I also got four 60"x5/8" hoses for my Kubota tractor from SC a couple years ago and they were top quality USA hose and fittings. I wouldn't have recommended them if I thought there stuff was junk. I guess since it is "surplus" you get...
I found this to be the least expensive solution. The hose is #5 and the ends are jic-5f. The 90 connectors at the filters are jic-5m (connects to the hose) and ntp-4 (to the filter). Get the hose here (https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=920-2212&catname=hydraulic) You'll note the ends...
I would recommend using a 5th wheel rail set to accommodate the winch. You would have to fab the winch to make a base that would have tabs to drop into the rail slots. It seems to me to be the easiest, cheapest and strongest. And you could remove it. Also, all your welding could be done in...
Does anyone have a line on cheap motor freight for shipping a GL gen set?
I used the GL shipping tab and got a quote of $1500. Granted it is shipping 1300 lbs clear across the country but I expected it to be about 1/3 of that.
Has anyone else had a generator shipped motor freight?
John
