Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

How does a gap less ring account for heat expansion? That's what the ring gap is for in the first place. It should close up when the engine gets to operating temperature.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

O ok. Now it makes sense.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well I was only wanting a 2 ton unit. Nothing crazy. I really am hoping to score one with full remote function. Including power pivot. So if I just do what you did and add a little more vertical support with the ribs of the bed I should be ok. Thank you for the compliment.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

From time to time an auto crane comes up for sale cheap and I was worried about how to reinforce the bed. Those are commonly 24v so good to go there.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I noticed your bed isn't flexing much. So obviously your reinforcement is working. Nice job and thank you for the extra pictures.

Shallow is one way to put it.

    Pre-Oiler

Ok here's the deal on a prelube system vs. Just converting to spin on oil filters. The spin on conversion will be cheaper than any real prelube system and more than likely cheaper than a cobbled together system that won't do squat anyways. You WILL need a pump that can produce the volume...

Just bought a pair of Deuces (Added Pictures)

Nice score. I have a hood for you if your interested.

    Pre-Oiler

No its not. I'd also stop using the lucas also. It doesn't help with dry starts anymore than quality engine oil. If anything it over thickens the oil and dilutes it's additive package.

    Pre-Oiler

Well, logically, if the water pump belt brakes you now have an air cooled engine. Hence the double fan belt.

    Deuce dash cluster

Well that depends on how many monters I have drank. Funny when I take a picture of my watch in the dark it actually does look a little scary. Which usually is enough for the government to ban something.

    Headlight problem

What? No h4 headlights are fine on a 60 amp alternater. I assume you have the trucklite leds. They are notorious for up and dying, flickering, or whatever other strange and irritating behavior just because. They are absolutely terrible in terms of reliability. If you want leds and have...

Hmm...the hands in my watch glow in the dark....

    Pre-Oiler

I guess that depends on the application and how hard they are to find. In my case they are cheap and easy to find. In high torque applications they are essential. To run the m35 alternater....not so much.

    Pre-Oiler

http://www.jatonkam35s.com/SPINONADAPTERKITS.htm Jatonka is a member here. I personally use his entire spin on filter setup for oil and fuel. I'm very pleased with his kits.

    Pre-Oiler

There aren't any. You can get a spin on filter conversion kit. They have anti drain back valves built into the filters.

    Pre-Oiler

A prelube system is an answer to a non existent problem. There are many diesel engines with well over a million miles on them with no prelube system. While the multifuel has its share of problems, lack of lubrication isn't one of them. If it makes you feel better modern spin on oil filters...
