Yes the dodge wheels are wider but have more offset (tuck in more).

Sounds like he has the newer body style (88-98) ifs, truck.
6in lift won't clear 35's without trimming.
It will take a lot of trimming with lift to fit 37's.

Easiest way I have found is keep it registered under 4000 pounds.
You can run "home made" trailer plates on it.
Texas doesn't want to title anything under 4k.
The A3's are hard to find in our area, good luck.
