Oh yea, I have a M103A2 I'd like to get rid of. A MEP002 would fit nicely....in fact two would fit better as it was once a PU-17 power set with two MEP003s.
Good luck getting a title for that trailer. Its under the specified weight where Florida will issue a title. For trailers under 2000, bill of sale to register. No titles.
"disintergrating retainer problem" this wouldn't happen to cause a leak in the driver side front corner of the IP on the mounting plate would it? Seems my clogged return line check valve WAS indicative of a deeper problem. Time for a new IP I suppose.
12+ across each and 24v+ when across both. However, amps are important here so charge them both up to be sure. If it was cranking before you installed the GP card, then it makes me think the first time the card energized the glow plugs; it drained the remaining juice in your batteries.
Regarding the bonding of L0 and the frame, how are they bonded?
I have a second ground rod for my frame, but wasnt aware of a bond between L0 and the frame.
[2] 24v alts on passenger side with a "DUVAC" to supply 12v. Search DUVAC for more info on the device.
The electrical problem with the DUVAC is easily solved and should not be a deterrent to buying a M1010. I love my M1010 and drive it everywhere.
Kenny - I think the TMs were based off the book, so personally I don't think it is needed. Here are the pages which show the pump breakdown and related parts listing. These are from the 34P for the CUCV. Part 33 is the check valve.
Turns out the check valve in the return line on the top of the IP was bad.
I removed the check valve and tried cleaning it. No luck. I ended up punching the glass out of the center, reinstalled, and she fired right up. Its been running since...almost 2 hours now.
Now to find a source for new...
Check the check valve in the Ip return line. I just had a similar problem. I punched out the glass insert in mine and it solved my problem. Of course, now I need a new check valve but at least my truck is running.
There was evidence to suggest mine was used to store dry goods ( food ). We found part of a small burner and several manuals, one of them being for a MKT.
Here is a photo with the full DOT number on the old tires. Pre 2000 used a 3 digit code with XXY, where XX = week and Y = year. The tire guy mentioned 1985, but given the way they looked I think its more likely they were from 1995.
I couldn't help myself. These two are getting trucked back to Palm Bay though. After this last trip, I am taking a recovery break! Ultimately, only one will remain in my motor pool.
If anyone wants details on the white m1010, pm me. I'll send you the guys number and some more photos. It is a solid truck with around 5500 miles. $2200 is all he is asking. If he doesn't get a buyer soon, its going on Ebay.
