You want a minimum door size of 12'x12', w/14' ceilings. A deuce w/mirrors is 9' with the mirrors floded in. It is 11.5' high, with one of those slide in type boxes that are made for them. Thats with 9.00x20's. I always say when bulding a shop: figure the absolute largest size, and add about...
As mentioned earlier too, tying the valve stem with wire, will just leave you with a valve stem, tied to a wire. It will pull the stem off, in short order. About that same time, your tire is ruiened too. If your the one paying for the tires, you'll change it.
I don't know if it has a compressor or not, but it should have, if if doesn't. That and a pretty good size air storage tank. An arc air is a great tool. Cheap to run, compared to a torch. Youneed them both though. The air arc pulls lots of amps. You can do wonders with them. You have rthe...
DOT doesn't care about the structural integrity of things. They will only look at the tire loading. Here, you get 550#'s/ inch of tire size. On the steering, you get 600#/ inch. So on one 10.00x20, you get 5500#'s . They also don't care here, about what the pound rating on the tire. They...
From the size of the machine I was going to guess its at least 400 amps, but I bet its down rated, as with most military stuff - as the tag says 350 amps. It will burn 1/4" all day and not care. Its a nice setup - bottle racks and all, with plenty of tool boxes. There was probably someplace...
And while you have the head off, be sure to check it for flat. They have a tendency to warp some. If you do a rebuild, or just do an in frame valve job, put NEW guides in it. They are cheap and easy to do - don't knerl them. Go new on the guides.
I don't think he completely ment it that way, but that can be just one way of looking at it. Discussion, such as with SS, could tend to minimize a bid too. As when somebody starts discussing various points of a particulat LOT, that they preceive a negative. That can minimize the bid -...
Do a search here. One of the members makes them. I don't remember his name. Its a good buy. Be sure to get both wrenches that he offers. The second one holds the compressor shaft, while you are tightening the outer half of the pulley.
There is also a drawing that you can download, trace...
You can roll the new, top half of the seal in, just as the old one came out. It seems like there was a kit thing to aide in the instillation. It was a small cable wire chinese puller thing, that woud help to pull the new one into place. When you install the bottom cap, with the new seal in...
I have used Pizzoferrato Enterprises/Weebee Webbing before. They are darn good and take pride in their work, and they get the details right. Its real canvas, that smells and feels like real canvas.
The electrical system is a symptom of deferred maintenance, and that its not "street ready". The rest of the truck needs to be serviced, especially the brakes, to insure safe operation.
You don't have to work on too many of these trucks, before you start seeing all kinds of bugs in them, not to mention, the deferred maintenance.
Were did you find, to be the best source of parts?
Its hard to tell those Gals anything. They will do the telling. Did you get it from the Guy whos name is on the SF-97. He is the only one that can do anything with the Form. Look him up. Good Luck
