    Secured a top

I finally got a top for my deuce--those M105 tops are hard to find. Thanks to Mark! I also got the drums turned today. I thought it was expensive--$35 per drum! Did I get ripped off, or is this fair? Steve

    Intermediate stop for M109

Walter (Green Gator) is heading north to get his M109. He stopped by my place to get a couple spares. Just thought I'd share the beginning of his adventure with the group. I think he said he's headed to Indiana to get it. Steve

    Extra parts

I have these parts left over from my old M715--which was sold several years ago. If you need these or want them as spares, send me a pm. I'll sell them cheap. They were my spares. Steve

    Spin on filter installation

I know this has been shown before, but not on my truck. I installed John's spin on filter kit this afternoon. Wow! what a breeze! While I had the filters off, I changed the two hoses for the oil cooler? They were splitting and I thought it was a good time. Anyway, the filter set up was a...

    Engine oil level

Okay, I tried the search thingy--didn't answer my simple question. I must be searching wrong or the search option doesn't work very well. Anyway, I changed my oil today for the first time. Man what a job! I'm sending Jatonka a check tomorrow for the spin on kit. Okay, I added 5.5 gallons...

    Compressor regulator help

Could someone please clarify. I recently purchased a takeoff compressor regulator, but it's different than the one I have currently. The old one has a "T" for the larger copper tubing (3/8?) and a port for a return line to the compressor (I'm assuming this turns the compressor on and off)...

    Tow bar stowage (sorta)

I got tired of cracking my toes on my tow bar on the floor in the garage. Figure I'd stow it in the bed to get it out of the garage. Darn that thing is heavy! I know it may be a poor choice of location, but I rarely use the truck and figure at least it's out of the way. I plan on getting a...

    compressor

A while back, someone listed some new compressors for sale. I need a new one for my deuce--mine knocks under load. Anybody recall who this is or do you know of any for sale? Thanks. Steve

    Tire/wheel value?

I switched recently to Michelin tires on my bobbed duece. I have 5 mounted NDCC tires in nearly new condition left over. Any idea what they might be worth? I need some space in my garage. Thanks. If this is a violation of the site rules, forgive me. Steve

    purty tow bar

Finally got my tow bar from Gimpyrob. Thought I'd paint it up today. Turned out pretty good. Decals are all scratched up though. Thanks Chris! Steve

First GL win and retrieval (sorry no deuce)

I'm new to GL and won my first auction recently. I picked it up today. Very easy and fairly close (about 1.5 hours). I won 200 shelter halves. I didn't realize that it would be so many!! It filled up one of those large boxes! Anyway, I hope this counts for a road trip. Now what am I gonna...

    What are these things?

Could someone tell me what these are? I was checking fluids and noticed first, this shaft out of the back/top of my transmission. It looks like it should be connected to something--should I be worried that it isn't? Next is a piece of flat stock that was obviously torched off. Is this a...

    Side by side bobbed dueces

Went over to Allan's this afternoon to see his new truck. Very nice!! I hope he doesn't mind a side by side comparison with my truck. Pictures just don't do it justice--it is TALL! Steve

    Repeated Transfer Case Shifting

Whenever I return from a drive in my deuce I shift the transfer case into low--it makes getting into the drive easier without having to touch the clutch. Is this repeated shifting of the T-case okay? I don't want to wear it out! Thanks. Steve

    Glad hand covers

My truck is missing the glad hand covers. Are they available at a truck store or NAPA, or are they unique to the military? Otherwise, anybody got a couple for sale? Thanks. Steve

    Clutch diagnosis help

My clutch is adjusted correctly according to the TM (ie it has the 1 inch of free play before engaging). However, it engages very near the top of the pedal. It still engages strongly and without slipping, but VERY near the top of the pedal. I'm assuming this indicates that my clutch is near...

new seat cover (cheap man's version)

I've been in need of a new driver's side seat cover, but the prices I've seen are just too much. So, I covered it myself. I used an old shelter half that I picked up for 2 bucks at a swap meet. Seems to have worked well.

    Air hose part number

Noticed that the flexible high pressure line that runs from the pressure gauge (on the dash) to the fireway distribution block is hissing. Anybody have a NAPA equivalent number or is this an item for one the MV vendors? Thanks much. Steve

    radiator cap pressure

On a search of the forum, I noticed that the duece radiator cap (for the multi) should be rated at 7-8 psi. I have two caps I received from memphis for the deuce, one is stamped with 8 the other 15. I've been using the 8psi one but occassionally get some dribble out of the overflow tube...

    pooched upper radiator hose

After an extended drive, I notice that my upper radiator hose is a little pooched (expanded beyond its normal diameter (by about 1/2 inch). The gauge reads around 165 (never higher than that. Oil looks fine. Just seems like a lot of pressure in the system. New radiator, new hoses. Is this...
