Anybody heading to the Florida Rally by way of Virginia (through Chris' neighborhood--steelsoldiers)?? I need a 14 bolt chevy axle transported. I will pay and pay handsomely! Let me know. Thanks!
Steve
I ran to out to Hawthorne, FL, yesterday to get some trailer parts from my friend Mark. I got a chance to see his bobbed deuce. He's doing a very nice job. I like the M103 trailer bed on it. He's also running muffled exhaust down the frame rail and has power assist steering. This is going...
Okay. I FINALLY got rid of the light set I bought on GL during the summer. Darned if I didn't try to figure out how to use it. No go. Put it up for sale for a major loss and Rtjraleigh (Rob) bought it. He has property and needs light. Cool, at least it will get used and not scrapped. This...
I bought this Jimmy over the weekend. I'm not much of a Chevy guy. Really never owned one, but I like the look of the K5 and CUCV blazers. Unfortunately, my eyes took over my brain. I figured out (after the purchase) that this vehicle has the corporate 10 axles and an NP-241 transfer case...
Mark (deucecoupe) and I ran over to Jacksonville this morning to retreive my genset and trailer. Fairly uneventful. However, it took us about 30 minutes to get the lunette rotated (took us 25 minutes to get the cotter pin out). Yes, we knew what we were doing--I think. Anyway, flipped the...
Are these vehicles (specifically an M1028) able to be flat towed? I need to haul one about 50 miles. Have a medium tow bar with 3/4 inch crow's feet. Would be towing with an F250 with 6 liter diesel. Thanks.

I just won this M101 trailer on GSA. I picked it up this afternoon. It was obviously a genset trailer (ground strap data plate, holes in floor, fuel can holders, fire ext). Can anyone tell me what this bracket on the underside is for? Is this a spare carrier? Also, what's with the big sheet...
Needed a spare carrier for my M116A2. Had a few parts left over from the M105 (notice the angled bracket holds the M105 tub to the frame in front. Used this part for the spare. Very easy fab. I need a little angle support toward the deck and I'm done.

Secured a top for my trailer (thanks Mark!). Put it on and it sags in the middle like some support is missing. When I got the trailer from GL, it only had four metal bows. Is there something else for the middle area? A pic would be VERY helpful. I'll probably have to fab something up...
I really need this gone. Doesn't make sense to cut it down. Anybody give me $250 for it? It would be great behind a deuce. I don't have a deuce anymore. It has a new caster tire and inner tube (cost me about $70) and new data plates (cost me about $40). One brake hose is missing. One...
My ad for this expired, so I've placed another one (being processed). I need to get rid of this. I dropped the price to $1000 or best offer. All the lights and boom and trailer stuff are included. Thanks.

I pulled these off my genset. They are dated 2007. I charged them briefly to get the genset going, but decided they were too big and difficult to move aroung to keep. After charging, they indicated 11.8 volts each. I'm assuming they'd be good with more charging. The gauge on the genset was...
Ran over yesterday to get a couple lots won. Tow bar is unused and very nice. Unfortunately, it was short one crow's foot with the large pin size. Instead they gave me an extra axle type connector (the type with the chain). Oh well, sometimes you never know. In the tow bar lot there was a...
My EUC cleared in 31 days (first timer). Ran over this morning to get my genset and trailer. Had to wait in line--GL was hoppin! Took all of 10 minutes to hook up and split. Someone took the fire extinguisher that was on the trailer. Tool box had a new grounding set and hammer and a fuel...
One of the springs on the M353 I recently bought had rust in between the leaves so bad that they were swollen. Pulled it off, used the air chisel to remove the rust and it looked perfect! Heavy as heck and a MAJOR bear to reindex. Finally got it all back to together--very pleased! Check out...
I recently bought this trailer and can't find a TM for it. I also can't find any mention of such a trailer (M492A1 nomenclature) on google. This sure looks like an M353. Something is wrong because the M353 is a 3.5ton trailer and this one states 1.5 ton. Is a TM for the M353 available? If...
Flood light set needed a trailer to haul it. Found an M492A2 (M353?) trailer nearby. Used the winch to slide the skid off my civy trailer an onto the military one. Went very smoothly. Unfortunately, the trailer and light set combo weighs in at about 4800 lbs. Trailer is very nice. Anybody...
Ran over to GL in Jax this morning. I won a flood light set (refurbished in 2002 and never used). Had a set of new jumper cables in with the lot! Nice. The boom on this thing is cool--it will raise to about 40 feet! Looks like an artillery piece in my drive! Gotta figure out what to do...
