Mainsail I love that setup. I was curious if the top could hold up a tent. I really love that radio setup. Im still only a technician but wouldn't mind going for general. Thanks a ton for the pictures, really nice setup. Do you have a roof rack under the tent? If so I would love to see some...
I have no desire to do extreme off roading. Ill keep it stock but will upgrade the suspension just for better ride and handling. Thanks for the info. to you all. I will definitely insulate so it keeps the noise down and heat down. Just an hour riding in it now can drive you nuts from the engine...
Thanks Dock. I agree the insulation is a definite upgrade. I dont plan on touching the transmission until it must be done. This trans works great and I dont mind running 65mph top speed. I thought the stock 1009 had a government locker already in the rear? Is that something I could swap out with...
I want to set my m1009 for overlanding. But would love to see some pictures of others guys setups. Rooftop tents and mounts, trailers, roof racks, lift kits, stock height but better shocks (what types) any cool changes inside the rig like comms, seats, consoles. Anything that you would change...
I would like to get a civilian chevy version just because I think it would last longer. But as long as it fits the filter housing and wont fall apart in a year. The after market stuff seems cheap. Its not as much for mileage as for noise. It really cuts down the roar inside the cab.
If anyone has a cold air intake hose for a 6.2 please let me know. I cant seem to find one that isn't after market and none from any junk yards near me. If you have one to sell please let me know, thanks!!
I believe it is just some shop. Its for friend he is an insurance adjuster and they shop wants that but he obviously doesnt believe that quote. But its hard to find any book listed hours for these vehicles.
Does anyone know what the book hours are for rebuilding a hub? I need a good quote for insurance purposes. thanks for any information you guys can provide.
I'm still learning as I go on this CUCV. I think that this looks wrong and I am guessing it has something to do with idle? I don't know what the thing is on the right that has 2 green wires running into it. It looks like that pin or rod should hit that flat metal piece coming off the throttle...
Just wanted to let everyone know that I got her running again. I figured my parts are over 30 yrs old so I might as well just change out the GP relay. I never heard any clicking and I tested the IP where the pink wire goes, it would click off a jumper from the battery. I went ahead and installed...
Ok I have been reading TMs and the boards. I keep reading that I need to hear clicking when I turn on the key. I do not hear any clicking at all, so does that mean my GP module is not working? Is that what should click, I think I need to step away from it for a few days LOL starting to all bleed...
Ill do that Assel, I dont mind trouble shooting, just thought maybe someone has seen this before and knew what to look for. I am getting good suggestions so I have some place to start. Thx
Thank you all. I will check the GPs this weekend. I didn't install them so I have no idea what brand, but I want to get the AC 60G's after reading this site. It is a 24V system and as far as I can tell, nothing has been hacked up on it yet. Only the rust on the roof that was cut out :-/ . I do...
My m1009 would not start the other day. It started great when I first got it, I have very few miles on it since I got it 8 months ago. It started every time. Then it slowly got harder to start. About three days ago it wouldn't start at all. Just turn over and over and then began puffing out...
I was wondering if anyone knows a good body man in the Houston Tx area. I have some major rust on the top of the cab on my CUCV and its starting to go to the second layer inside the cab. I am not a body person so I need to find someone that works on older cars and might be able to do something...
