The plug has always been out. (I cant even find the spot where it is supposed to be stored) the schmeg on my finger was from just to the rear of the hole.
Nothing came out from the cover and the break clean run off seemed pretty clean to my surprise.
No... But i will.
I didnt ignore it I just went for the quicker of the 2 things to try. It was a rainy day and i wanted to do something quick.
Also i am a firm believer of trying one thing at a time. If I did both and the problem was gone I wouldn't know which fixed it.
Yes it was easy to find. The part that I could see when removed the cover looked clean but that's the back side of the pressure plate.
The white chezzy grease on my finger was from the outside near the forging plug would be.
I used 2 cans. I did it with the clutch engaged and disengaged. I...
Clay is correct... I just took a stab at it and the round ones held. Granted i may have to replace mine sooner than normal but it was a good bail out and i can order the proper ones.
Mine did the same thing.
As far as the o-rings. I brought my assembly to a True Value and talked to the guy in the plumbing section. He pulled out the oring kit and we fitted them up no problem. There is 3 inside there different sizes.

i think i can make a more evil looking one. but actually that link made me think of another question. what is the story behind these drive-line disc brakes? can something like this bee added?
has anyone ever came up with a cool attachment for these flanges?
i was thinking about attaching a disc that i can paint like a spiral to hypnotize people... or just make them laugh. :cookoo:
Oil change, o-ring replaced on fuel cut off rod, 24volt to 12volt converter installed, installed small terminal strip feeding 12 volt accessories, rear view camera installed, 7" lcd monitor installed, 12 volt outlet installed, fabricated adapter for old school Hurst shifter, wired shifter button...
I cant say what the rear seal look liked when the cc flooded because I couldnt see it, but if it reacted like the front did.... wow! The front looked like it was literally gushing black fuel and it was everywhere.
Easly 10HP gain. As soon as i get some decals on it I am sure to gain more. I cant wait to get it on the dyno and see the before and after results.
