    Friend's Bobbed Deuce

I ran to out to Hawthorne, FL, yesterday to get some trailer parts from my friend Mark. I got a chance to see his bobbed deuce. He's doing a very nice job. I like the M103 trailer bed on it. He's also running muffled exhaust down the frame rail and has power assist steering. This is going...

    Equipment road trip

Okay. I FINALLY got rid of the light set I bought on GL during the summer. Darned if I didn't try to figure out how to use it. No go. Put it up for sale for a major loss and Rtjraleigh (Rob) bought it. He has property and needs light. Cool, at least it will get used and not scrapped. This...

    MEP 003 Question

Pull the starter and clean everything! Including the grounding strap at the base of the motor mount by the batteries. These are extremely durable and I doubt you lost the starter. Contact problem I bet. You'd be amazed if it aint perfectly grounded. Try that--what have you got to lose but...

    Mep002a

Mangus, No problem. I used NAPA 3113. You do have to slightly modify the filter. You see the "T" shape in the center of the filter housing? Those "tangs" have to bent slightly to fit over the MEP003 fuel filter center bolt. No biggie for me. It's a whole lot cheaper than a specialty item...

    Mep002a

Alan, Nice nab. I'd take those all day with trailers for that price! Your purchase has guaranteed no hurricanes in Florida this season!

With as slow as GL is, you're probably fine. In my experience, the faster you are, the slower they seem to go. Now I wait for them to ask me for stuff.

The NAPA fuel filters work fine for the MEP003s. That O ring is a pain to install though! Alan, glad to see you got one. How much you guys paying? I bought before the glut and probably paid too much (about $1200 per). Steve

    Jimmy/K5/CUCV family

I signed up over there at CK5, but I can't post or see pictures. I think they want you to pay $25 a year for that. Too rich for my blood. I'm a cheapskate though. 3.73:1 sounds right. Maybe I'll change out the ratios. Thanks for the info amjblazer. If you don't mind, I may pick you brain...

    Jimmy/K5/CUCV family

Wow, thank you all very much for the information. I will review these posts a number of times. Sounds to me like the corporate 10 bolts will do okay if I stay off the accelerator. AJM, unfortunately, the gearing in the diffs is three point something to one. Funny thing, all the axles I've...

    Jimmy/K5/CUCV family

Mangus, Thanks man. The truck currently has 35 inch tires on it. Should I upgrade the "automatic" hubs to lockouts? Or is that a waste of money? Will the 10 bolt axles hold up to this tire size with a little 4x4 action? Thanks again. Steve

    Jimmy/K5/CUCV family

I bought this Jimmy over the weekend. I'm not much of a Chevy guy. Really never owned one, but I like the look of the K5 and CUCV blazers. Unfortunately, my eyes took over my brain. I figured out (after the purchase) that this vehicle has the corporate 10 axles and an NP-241 transfer case...

    Generator safety

I did what Dan recommended. I called an electrician that did generator hookups. It cost me (let me tell you--it cost me!), but I feel comfortable that the job is correct, up to code, and won't harm anyone.

Lance, Download it from this site. Look under resources. I downloaded it and had a local print shop put in on paper and bind it. I think it cost me about $30-35. Steve
