They're easy to put in, just make sure to keep the big round side nuts in the chunk when you pop the caps off. Back them off only a couple of turns, just enough to get the differential out. When you go back together don't be surprised if you end up one of short of where the factory setting was...
I may be mistaken but I think the offset is the necessary change from 5 series to 4 series gearsets. I may be off on that though...
Nice part collection Bob. I still have, I think, two sets of stock axles kicking around and some other odds and ends.
I found out the guy I sold my non-crane winch deuce to had it overloaded with logs and way overhanging the rear and had his CDL buddy driving it and got him a nice fat ticket for no inspection, blocking license plate, excessive load overhang...the cop told the guy he was giving him the ticket...
There is a s...l...o...w... but progressive trend of disc brakes on larger and larger trucks. Air disc calipers are also available and will divide the commercial market in the future. If I recall correctly last time I really dove into this topic the life expectancy of disc brakes was way more...
I haven't checked mine yet. It's road manners were quite polite and I didn't hear any locker noise when I headed down the power lines. It did go where it was pointed easily but it was in six-wheel and those 1400x20 Goodyears have some meaty foot prints.
A divorced PTO box w/ fwd-N-rev. Both input and output on same side. Unknown manufacturer...I'd speculate Chelsea or Dana. As far as I know it's specific to the 757 and 656 winch trucks.
I'm with G, even a slight tag to the front bumper sticking so far out there could possilby tweak it just enough that it would barely be noticeable to the eye but show up in the driveline. Even loosening a couple of the bolts and having a buddy put a side pull on it and check to see if you've...
'Frog, welcome to the world of seperated dog bones. Lucky for you it wasn't the upper link. They're real fun as they nod forward and start chewing on the driveshaft.
The first pic is PTO driven via front PTO output on the truck. Lots of Mogs can be outfitted for front and rear PTO outs. The big blower has a gear drive down the back of the truck to drive the driveshaft. I've seen another version that has a pair of throwing wheels...sort of like the one in...
Saddamsnightmare, just a quick fyi, a pair of stock front fenders on Velvet and you'd barely know I was there. It has stock spring packs with Rocks' and an NP205 on stock t-case mounts. Funny, of the people I talked to that drove them 'new' the consensus was that their kidneys still hurt from...
Nice! I put a 6.2 with an NV4500 in one and an NP205. What do you have behind the diesel? Is it the stock NP200 case? Is it leaking oil yet?
The 6.2 is good in them! Mine was pretty gutsy.
