Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

You may want to check with an International parts desk. See if they can locate one since they were later model civvy (commercial) and military.

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

I originally posted early in the thread that they were available in 12 or 24V. Mine is 12 volt.

Start of my crane truck project

Holy smokes! Anytime a load swings it can get the heart pumping! I just repicked my knuckleboom off my 5 ton the other day to do other work to it...they're BIG in the air. Is it possibly you could take a couple of pics of the outriggers and mounts where they bolt onto the crane base for me...

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

Oh, also keep in mind that the spool isn't centered on these winches so if you center mount the rear fairlead, you'll have more cable angle at one side of the incoming wrap than the other...if that makes sense.

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

Ha! In picture 5 of 6, the round trolley stop is 1" aluminum stock...so base your sizes off of that. The trolley is heavy. I think technically you could actually lay it down however, the trolly would have to captured at its rollers. You would also have to have a center point, like a...

    Picked up a unimog

Nice 404 score! Looks very clean! Oh, and nice pintle hook! I'm not sure how they are on the 404's but on the 406's they're REALLY scarce!!!

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

Some pics of the rear 20K Garwood w/LW on the Mog. I have a video of it dragging my John Deere but it's not up or downloaded. One other thing when designing your system, the large horizontal roller MUST pay the cable directly up into the tensioner pulleys. They're not designed for a forward...

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

Lemme try and see if I can round up some pics tomorrow of my levelwind set up. In the meantime, maybe something on this 10K Garwood hydraulic drive may be helpful. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/unimogs/64992-pin-10-000lb-front-winch.html

Spring 2012 Rausch Creek Rally Sign Up Thread

I checked on the Raush Creek website and they mentioned nothing about pets. Dogs are allowed, right? I recall there being a few around but just wanted to check-- Thanks!

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

I would suggest trying to find a blown up 20K Garwood and steel the tensioner set up and bridge off of that. If you're customizing the bumper then you'll prolly set up the roller(s) in that. Keep in mind the bridge is big, and the trolley is a LOT heavier than one might expect. I would guess...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Yep, 50.8mm I believe is cast onto the side of the housing. ...yeah, so 2". You may want to reread a few of my early posts. There are some HydroMAX details in there that may be helpful...especially the brake power multiplication vs hydro-boost. These are massive in comparison.

Has anyone had a fender bender?

I had a good one maybe 8 years or so ago with Velvet (my big M715...before it was too big) when she was still on the D60 &D70 rears. I had JUST gotten my 37x13x16 TSL BOGGERS wedged onto factory wheels and drove from the farm about 37 miles to my apt at the time. Next morning I was driving up...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

One other time the electric booster comes on is if you get into your vehicle, put you foot on the brake and hit the key. The control circuit (factory stuff) would tell the motor to spool up because the engine isn't running and brakes are being asked for by the pedal being pushed. Basically...

    5 Ton 4x4 Conversion

I've thought about bobbing the M931A2 tractor...but really only for legality sake.

    10 ton near Carrollton

There's a whole section on the transmission and the problems they had with them. Granted, these guys are more off road as far as the grades they're on than a Euc', but still it's interesting to see that they ran into the same issue on multiple trannies. I've posted this link before, but it's a...

    winch PTO gear ratio ?

Nice link, as always...great info G! I was surprised at 27hp...not that a worm drive needs a crazy amount. I remember it being in that area when I was setting up the oil motor for the deuce winch project for the front of the Mog.
