Yep, that's the same radiator and same widening of the mount that I did. I'm guessing by the color that was an industrial Cummins or did you just 'industrialize' it via rattlecan? :)
There's a place near my far where a guy is doing the same thing...everything he has is worth gold prices. A guy I used to know in the area had an Uncle or something whose property backed that other knucklehead's property. The knucklehead in question helped his dad out who you could actually...
Is that a summit racing radiator in there? I know there was a PN for one that was a pretty good fit. I had one cooling my 427TD BBC with a 35 or 40,000GVW size oil cooler as well. FYI, I also found out, surprisingly that the M715 engine compartments don't breathe very well so air flow through...
Bruce, no arguments there whatsoever. I like the footprint not just the height. Half of the time I'm on soft soil so the five pair of skinny NDT's around the truck with thier domed tread is not helpful. Some meaty flat treaded Goodyears or the like would be better, but I still like the foot...
Jason, is there still a Tom@snakeriver? I remember he used to show up now and them maybe on the zone.
That said, I know it's personal preference, but you couldn't PAY ME to swap out my 1400 singles on my 931 for for ten 1100's.
If you look back on this thread at my post #3 and the third picture you'll see my M977 crane stood up about as far as you really want it. It is not telescoped out the whole way. See the pin locations for the rams how they're about over top of each other? That's about as far as you want to take...
I think I'm going to try to shorten a dropside bed, but leave the side full length for a sort of hidden or more complete box look. How much could that shelter weigh? You'll find all these cranes are under rated.
A VERY popular swap is the D60 and 14 bolt from CUCV trucks (not the blazers...). Give you disc and drum (with all kinds of rear disc kits for those), 4.56's instead of 5.87's, tougher axles, standard COMMON 8 lug, not the 6 on 7.25", etc.
4 wheel drum brakes, drums interchange front to rear. HOPE they have enough meat on them to be turned if you need to...they can be a little tough to find. Other parts just about cross over to standard parts store items like the wheel cylinders. If memory serves, some guys found that a Jeep...
nf6x, yeah...the price on the large commercial size knucklebooms can really, really throw you for a loop. $40,000 just for a crane? WHEW... ...but, they can reach waaaaaaaaay out there. And again, yes...they take up a lot of frame space too.
Gimp, mine has all the circuits you mentioned...
