Deuce Crane Truck Thread Hi-jack Cont'd

I hadn't until recently (thanks derrickl112) viewed the later trailers with the Grove M977 like cranes on them. Those would be the ones most likely you'll want to use as they have the outrigger tube located on top of the frame nested with the crane base...like I had to do which was a LOT of...

Cleaning up the cranetruck to sell

Bjorn, contact the guy in post #22 with the tracks and ask him if he still has the small K-boom. He had one I think would be the size you're looking for... Unimog® Exchange™

    Nice bulkhead fitting you made!

Deuce Crane Truck Thread Hi-jack Cont'd

Yes, they really nest low. They're also a touch heavy to the passenger's side but no so much it changes how the truck acts. I may not be able to get 'Bruiser' the big 931 into my shop because of the K-boom. ...it's gonna be close...may have to put the CTIS on 'sand' mode to clear. If...

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

Great looking mount! You'll EASILY be able to bury the winch in the rear. I've nested the 10K Garwood under an M715 and nobody knew it was there. Also a 20K under the rear of a deuce.

Deuce Crane Truck Thread Hi-jack Cont'd

Thanks Danger Ranger, the truck is real handy...but time to step up. I was using it today to pull the mocked up knuckleboom off of the 931 tractor. I'm going to be able to get a lot more use out of the larger 939 series heavier truck. Blue has done a lot of work, hauling, 3 GL deuce runs...

    Front spring over axle question

I did a later model open knuckle 60 and the one perch ended up half way on the casting. If that thing will ever go offroad, check that front driveshaft clearance at the crossmember.

I fought the LAW and I WON!

From once living in Hampton Bays, I can't believe you made progress with the township! Be VERY happy with your accomplishment. I'm guessing one of the biggest helps to you was the fact that people around the Pine Barons recognize brush trucks as capable vehicles...which minus the tank and...

Those two are a pair of my favorite pics! I nearly went that direction...but happened on a good priced dropside.

    Front spring over axle question

For the sake of simplicity and steering shimmies...I've relocated the pads to the top of the axle. If memory serves...one side ends up half on the diff casting and the other side of the mount on the axle tube. Double check clearance when the suspension is cycled down to full droop on the...

Deuce Crane Truck Thread Hi-jack Cont'd

We took that top part and the bottom part in two pieces 8 miles on a friends gooseneck to his Dad's farm and put it back together. That was a pretty wide load. :) The crane specs are 2,500lbs at 19', 4,500lbs at 9' and just under 3 ton right off the deck. I saw one ship mounted for loading...

Deuce Crane Truck Thread Hi-jack Cont'd

I had mentioned on Bjorn and Justin's thread about selling 'Blue,' my M977 crane deuce truck soon and pics were requested. Here are some pics, here are some specs...it's not quite for sale yet...but soon. Quick specs front to rear: 20K Garwood, front Vice, recored and banded radiator, Mack...
