For your entertainment, a pic of the four new 6TL / 6MTL's in the back of my 3000GT. If you notice the cell caps at the terminals are slightly offset from the others for clearance of the cable end. It would be nice if they were all moved in like the factory ones I removed were. I had to flip the...
I had a nice solid 5 hours to work on the M931 Monday and figured I'd swap out the big 1400x 20 that kept leaking and sat long enough on base to have the sidewalls be a concern. I rooted around and found the O-rings I ordered a while back so I was good to go there and started on the truck. Well...
I was a passenger in an M1075 one time and drove one a short stint thanks to one of our gracious members. Let me tell you something- Wreckerman's statement about a hotrodded one with an Allison in a bobbed 5 ton being fast is an UNDERSTATEMENT. That 1075 HEMTT with a full water tank on it I...
It should be something like this: under 26,000 and no straight air brakes- NO CDL required. 26,001 and up CDL for weight, straight air brakes and you need an air brake endorsement.
PA now has anything over 10,001 lbs gross vehicle weight for trailers needs CDL. Hence the reason you see so...
I went to the Mad Max Museum in Silverton, N.S.W. when I was down. Whew...heck of drive from Sydney! They were supposed to be filming the new movie but because of the super wet spring thier post apocalyptic outback scene was lush and green so they post poned it for a while. I hadn't heard...
Another use for a snatch block is to steer to the line though places. Like I use that when dragging logs, there's usually not a straight path so I'll hang a snatch block off a tree truck to steer it around something then up to the truck. They're just handy to have. I have 2 of the large ones...
A snatch block in the line amplifies the strength of the winch, slows the line speed, and doubles the line where load is. Most of the time they're considered to double the power of the winch. 25,000lbs to 45,000lbs is just about that.
I picked up an 8V71 single turbo one time that was listed as 'no run.' It had four stuck injectors. I cleaned pulled, disassembled, cleaned, and reinstalled them and it ran like a champ. A guy came the whole way up from the Gulf Coast to get as it matched a generator engine on his rig.
Too bad you're not closer I'd make and offer on that dropside.
Anyone near central PA with a dropside at a good price? I'm interested possibly even without sides...
There are enough parts trucks around with the front axles robbed out of them to do this:  http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce-modification-hot-rodding/5966-big-dumb-trailer-more-pics.html
You friggin' guys and your Tatra's. I've practically memorized the all the truck trial footage on YouTube as I've been watching them for years. WOULD LOVE to get one of them sometime. ...in the meantime, keep posting pics!!! It is MUCH appreciated! :) [thumbzup]
