High speed and CUCV are mutually exclusive to each other lol
I'm just not brave enough to turn a 6.2 diesel over 3000 rpm. I want my 6.2's to stay in one piece...
Sweet... just curious, how do those tires do off road? I had a set in 235 85 16 on my 79 K20. Good tire, although when I got into the slick stuff off road the traction was not that great unless I aired down. I'm thinking the tighter tread pattern on the smaller 235 85 16 may have been the...
I run the same Toyos on my 79 K20 flatbed truck. They don't flex like the KM2's, but those stiff sidewalls handle the weight of the truck with the heavy steel flatbed with a load in it
The local auto electric shop ordered my 28MT.. no idea where it came from. They use the same supplier for the starter and they haven't had any issues with them. My 86 M1008 has a 28MT 12 volt version and it works just fine, just doesn't turn the engine as fast as the 24 volt version.
*the 24...
Anyone else running this size on their CUCV truck?
I run KM2's in this size on my 86 M1008. Great tires: excellent traction in heavy rain and mud, no fender rubbing and good fuel mileage.
That's the normal diesel rattle in cold weather. My 85 M1008 sounds just like it
Btw, the ratting sound of a 6.2 diesel on a cold start is a thing of beauty... it's music to my ears.
We've had low temps in the teens this year and both of my M1008's fire up without hesitation. They just rattle louder at first because of the colder temps.
My 85 M1008 has a brand new 24volt 28MT. It does not turn the engine over nowhere near as fast as the 27MT direct drive. If the glow plug system is working as it should and it's getting fuel, the engine should start very quickly. My 86 M1008 has a 12 volt 28MT and it starts up within 1-2...
The rubber on the balancer may look okay, but it's 30 plus years old and it's dry and hardened. The balancer on my 85 M1008 looked fine as well, but I had it changed out to a Dorman OEM unit. It was a night and day difference. The engine idled markedly smoother and it gained some power. I...
