Well not exactly a "military" vehicle, but quite a few veterans that saw it the first time asked me the "history" about it and how did I ever get my hands on such a "rare" vehicle....hahaha One of the projects I did manage to finally get around to doing was pretty special. One it was something...

Installing New Bows & Cover on M-35A2C

Take a flash light and look down the pockets in the bed that you are trying to add the staves to......there might be some pieces of the old wooden bows in there...another thing to look for is any bolts that were installed in the bed pockets for some reason, the staves might be hitting them.....I...

    First Deuce Winter Experience

Go to Menards and get the aluminum dryer vent flex pipe.....3" it works great for the defrost lines and I have the arctic fuel heater in my truck. You can get both pieces and have some to spare from one bag. Just don't use that junk made of plastic. This is the stuff you are looking for.

What mods would you say are the most important or give the most utility to a deuce?

As stated make it run good and save money....as to mods, a civi 24 volt alternator is priceless in my opinion, followed with better lights and upgrade the wiper arms. makes driving it more enjoyable......then some better tires. Also in regards to your trans questions....an 8 speed trans isn't...

    Arctic Personnel Heater Manual

If your heater is like the ones for the deuce, and a couple I saw for jeeps.....it should have its own fuel pump, so you would tie it in the "t" you are talking about.

    Where are the ground wires?

The main ground wires are from the battery to the frame.....if you look at the top passenger side of the trans bell housing one will be there to the frame, the drivers side of head on the back will bolt to the cab...there is one on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side to the...

    2nd alternator, 12V

The problem you guys are missing when you pull 12 volts off one of the batteries is the fact that the stock 24 volt alternator is putting out 24 volts.....the ONLY way it can charge the batteries the same is IF both batteries are being drawn from the same.....just in case anyone asks......YES...

Yes I have, you can pm me and I will give you any and all details you need. I will also put you in touch with George he is the member here that makes the brackets(also is only 10 minutes from me) so you can have an easy bolt on set up. Very easy to do.

    Generator no charge/ no lights

Also, they might not have driven it enough to have messed up a battery yet, or they might have just didn't know why.
  17. eagle4g63

    Generator no charge/ no lights

On your switch you found the one "hot" wire then the others are the supply to the lights them selves.....if you put the hot wire back on the switch and test the other legs of the switch, they should be dead with the switch in the off position then they should become "live" when you turn on the...

    alternator wiring

Double check the wire with a meter or at least an idiot light....without the truck running make sure there is NO power on the small wire (the one on the truck), with main switch on there should be 24 volts. IF so than yes hook it to the field terminal....then at least jump the other small...

    Generator no charge/ no lights

Not sure about the lights not working, we'll get back to them......for now there is another issue you will need to address....you put in new batteries because as you noticed one of them went down hill...from the looks of things they didn't "Convert" to 12 volts....what they did was put in a 12...

    alternator wiring

The small wire is the "exciter" wire(field wire). It is used to "excite/liven up" the field in the alternator....most new alternators will auto liven up after they get spun to a certain rpm...If you look up a modern alternator wire diagram you will find that the 2 small wire hook ups are as...
