I have been real busy or I would have said earlier.....anyway better late than never.
I do know what the plugs are supose to be that go in the elbow on the deuce. Both are METRIC BOLTS.....The larger one is a M20-1.5 get what ever length you can and cut it down to make it a plug length....the...
Hey Gimp are you talking the 2 holes in the intake elbow? IF so pm me your address and I'll send you the plugs......It's the least I can do after what you did for me.
I also made a wire set up for mine, and also put a plug in the dash to hook it to.... if you find the tent receptical sets, they use the exact plugs on the the outlet box(it's what I used for the dash plug) and then just used the cord from the kit....it's already made for you. I'll have to find...
Thanks for the link doghead....it does seam weird that so many people have a cool running truck without a thermostat....just doesn't make sense.
Anyway, definitely taking my IR with me when I go back.....just also going to put in a new thermostat.....I'm the kind of guy that will forget about...
Ok, so some playing around with my spare housing and an old thermostat.....it is clear that the thermostat housing is chambered.....the thermostat in these things acts like a valve, not like a normal car motor....open/close......but more like a switch....send water to chamber "A" or chamber...
That's kind of what I was thinking when I was looking at the housing and thermostat......Gonna go get a new thermostat and seal and install them in my extra housing before I head back.....
With the engine gauge, would always run on the colder side with the fan I have....so I know it is getting hotter than it should.....plus the fact that it started steaming out the overflow tube......and blew out at least a gallon of fluid.
The gauge is saying it is climbing over 200 and normally...
Ok, I have read the threads you posted and I am still confused. After really looking over the housing and the thermostat, it appears that when open it closes one loop and when it is closed it closed off the other loop.....I have heard that with NO thermostat it should run cold, I have also read...
Thanks for getting the motor set to go for me Gimpy.....I am trying to figure out what weekend I can make it back out there, was going to make it this next weekend but that is just not going to happen....way too much stuff to get done to get out there.....I am looking at the next weekend, just...
Well I finally got home at 7:30PM today.......only left at 3:30PM YESTERDAY!!!!!
Gotta say, I had fun even though I think I was awarded the worst luck member of the event.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! :beer:has to be given out to Stretch, Gimpy and Kip for all the help.....and to everyone...
I love my fluke 87 III......has more stuff on it than I will use, and I can't say what they cost....my dad gave it to me, he used it for YEARS in the mill in the electronics department. Best meter I have ever owned.
When I had my soft top on I used exhaust clamp pieces to space the poles off the back of the cab just enough to clear the top nicely.....and they are cheap.
I just went through with changing my master cylinder and airpack.....IF you only take out the line #10 and leave the fittings #9 where they are, then you don't need to even think about #8.
On the other hand, IF you new master cylinder doesn't have the fittings in it and you have to reuse your...
I would just google m1078 pics and look at all the pics and mask out your truck like they are in the pics.....did that to my first deuce before I found the makings bulletin for it....actually wasn't off by much...only a few spots had to be adjusted a little.
Pics like this are pretty good ones...
At the top of this sight there is a button that sais "technical manuals" click on that then a drop down will come up, scroll down to "The deuce tms" there will be many threads for different manuals on the deuce......special interest to the one marked "TMs for the Deuce" it will list all the...
