There is also a mighty mite, nice early one with no engine, i may come back for the 715, but i leave tomorrow for Hawaii for 3 weeks to visit my son who is stationed there with 25th ID. So a little vacation, then back to work on the goat.
Ok here are the pics. No data plate but from looking at the exhaust i would guess it is a M792. Bumper numbers say it last belonged to 210 FA from the old 197 INF brigade at Ft. Benning Ga.
It is fairly complete, engine is not stuck but im pretty sure the rack is.Both the engine and t case are...
I found a Gamma Goat very near me on craigslist, going to check it out tomorrow. It may only be a parts rig, but could be useful. I will update with some pics.
Yeah, its always a pig in poke buying off gsa, pictures suck, but in this case well worth what i have paid for the 2 m116's i have bought there recentley.
Out of the 2 i will have one really good trailer.
That trailer actually belongs to a friend of mine, he fabbed that up and its a great idea for hauling trailers.
I had to borrow his trailer because mine is already full of generators and i had to pick up more:-P
And yes, it came out of Oklahoma forestry.
A couple of real nice 900.16's with about 80% tread and little to no checking on the sidewalls. Only problem is they were attached to another M116A1 with a a hunk o junk mep-018 on top.:-P
I learned to drive a Danish Centurion back in the late 80's in Germany. It had a build plate in drivers hole dated 1945, it still had the Rolls Royce merlin engine, it was a hoot to drive.
