The truck had no battery or batteries in it. I looked like it may have been drivable... but it had rust where you don't normally see rust. Speaker grill in the door, the bottom four inches of the seat frames. Some of the bare metal under the hood had corrosion on them. The exhaust pipe was...
I saw both of the M1008's and the CUCV II. The M1008 with the covered bed was very nice. The underhood area was clean and showed signs of routine maintenance. The tarp over the bed looked new. When I turned the key all the dash lights came on and the seatbelt warining alarm came on. It started...
May I suggest that once your truck is back together and on the road you give the wife's friend a ride in it. She may like to know how it's supposed to perform.:-D
Hello and welcome.
Another So Cal member, Yeah. If this keeps up we can have a Southern California MV Rally or convoy or anything like the folks back east seem to do every weekend.
It takes a while but I usually run along at about 70 mph. Stock engine, trans, diffs, but I'm running 33" tires. Of coarse I hit one grade and it's a much slower story.
Yep here's the other one.
Hey Maddawg take a look at www.RRpicturearchives.net there is bound to be a bunch of pictures on that website. Go to the search area, sound familiar? I typed in Army and got a bunch of hits. Good luck.
This is a USN locomotive that features adjustable trucks for different rail gauges. It is presently on display at a rail museum in Northern California.
Hey Poof would you mind adding to this post a few pictures of the brake handle and mechanism? I'm presently restifying an M416 of my own and I'm missing some parts.
Or anyone who has an M416 please post some pics for me. Thanks.
Now I'm confused :cookoo:. For some reason I thought I saw an ad somewhere that had the same picture of a M1009 on the trailer, and it was included. If it wasn't OOPS.
A couple of times I've come out to my M1009 to find the left turn signal on. Must have clipped it getting out. I thought something was odd about that. Glad is isn't only mine that does it.
I'm going to try and modify the mounting tabs for the swing away carrier from a Bronco or S10 Blazer. May have to fabricate the mounting points and hinges. If anything, it may make for a template to make a whole new one? Don't know...yet.
80-85 mph? Is it all downhill from the border to your town? My M1009 with it's short wheel base gets kinda weird at 70 mph, not to mention the engine rpms. Glad you didn't get dead over there.
