    Daily driven deuces???

I'm not sure  there's a big plate on my dash that says no avgas, so I don't use it. My gut feeling was that it probably would cause knock or preignition but that shows how little I know about stuff like this, the only thing I can think of is maybe it doesn't work well in compression...

    Daily driven deuces???

Yep... long as it isn't too high octane it'll work :driver:found a plate on my engine (LDS-465 multifuel) that reads "fuel spec - all petroleum distillates up to a maximum octane rating of 85m-95r" though I may have swapped the m/r or 85/95. Basically anything up to gasoline, just toss a couple...

cost of ownership (the real cost of a deuce)

Truck... $2500 Gas to get my pickup there and back... $150 Diesel to get the truck back home... $350-400 Tolls, temp tags, food... $100 or so Stuff to get it working again halfway home after it blew all the belts and overheated... $100 Stuff I bought for it already... $510 (headlight bulbs...

looking for feedback on parting my m51a2

If you do part it out... let me know what you want for that winch and all the fixins. Man I hate ads like this :cookoo: wallet already screaming at me. If you don't, and still have it in a year or so, my dad might be interested in picking it up. He bought a bunch of land in ME and is building...

    Daily driven deuces???

I drive my 5ton to work 1-3 times a week depending on what I'm up to. It gets some pretty lousy gas mileage (~5mpg) but as soon as I start running WMO (I know the guys at three different autozone stores and used to work at valvoline instant oil change, so I figure I can probably get WMO pretty...

    2010 VIN Info Thread

OK... turns out I might actually need some of this info since I'm hoping to get the MA RMV to officially retitle it as the original year of manufacture rather than the M54 to M54A2 conversion year so I can get antique plates  Info: Front bumper and bumperettes read "1-150 AVN" on the...

PA residents and the M818 according to PENNDOT

Yep... going through the same thing right now for my M54A2. Like DH said though, this is about PA not MA, I'm really starting to wish I lived in PA instead! Sad thing is, my M54A2 weighs just under 20k, and will never weigh over 24k (nevermind 26) even fully loaded, but the title says GWVR of...

    I want a deuce

I think it'll haul a lot more than one Harley! I guess he'll just have to buy a couple more... Same, if anyone's heading through Mass and needs help or breaks down or anything, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do to help.

    2010 VIN Info Thread

Not sure if this info has been posted already since I did not read all 45 pages, but I found a way to look info up via DTID and DRMO RIC: DTID History Search Form The DRMO RIC is the first 4 letters of the ACCUM code from the sticker on the vehicle specifying the DTID, NSN, quantity, noun...

    My "new" M54A2

Fixed my e-brake! Also put an entire large size tube of red EP grease into the thing - and I know I missed at least 5 or 6 grease fittings. Got oil for it, haven't gotten gear lube for the diffs/transmission/transfer case yet, and I know I need to get some filters. Tossed up a classifieds ad...

    I want a deuce

I passed a guy in a BMW sports car going through Hartford on I-84! I'm fairly certain he was just trying to get pics from as many angles as possible though, because he passed me again and his passenger proceeded to stand up out the sunroof and snap a couple more shots... no, I'm not kidding...

    Ran out of fuel ):

This is the honest truth... the gauge in my 96 cherokee reads a half a tank below real level (but is otherwise good), the gauge in the 91 comanche reads in reverse and nowhere near linear, gauge in the 98 cherokee reads correctly but randomly twitches to empty, the gas gauge in the 5ton actually...

    My "new" M54A2

Sure will, thanks! (to both the suggestion and the rally.) Would have been to the last one (wasn't it last weekend? A friend of mine from my Jeep club went, and actually invited me) but I was in Pennsylvania picking up my truck :driver: Found some of the manuals and stuff, so I'm slowly...

    Big toys or money makers?

That's pretty awesome! What'd you do with the money, double the collection? :D Haven't made any money yet... but I'm gonna go with "cash only and don't tell the tax man". There is a good chance Taxachusetts will make me register the M54 as a commercial vehicle due to its size (since it's...

    My "new" M54A2

A few plans... 1 - definitely getting restored. It'll be a long, slow restoration, and it probably will be outside-only, because I have nothing capable of lifting axles, transfer cases, transmissions, engines etc... they are simply too heavy and I don't have a garage right now. Pretty much...

    Should I marry this girl?

Honestly, there are far worse problems to have! :p

    My "new" M54A2

Yeah... I view life as an opportunity to learn things. Having to fix something I knew nothing about on the side of the highway definitely taught me a few things! The rainy part of the trip will definitely make me appreciate the soft-top more once I have it.

M35 (and other MV) Roadside Assistance list

UPDATE - I now have an M54A2, if anyone within range needs a tow, feel free to call (so long as you have the tow bars, I don't.)

    My "new" M54A2

A bit of backstory... I've been looking for a deuce and a half for years, on and off. Bid on a few GSA auctions in summer 06 while still in college, realized I was insane (first step is admitting you have a problem!) and let someone else win because I had no way to recover anything. Bid a few...

    I want a deuce

I completely forgot responding to this saying I probably wouldn't do it in a truck I didn't know... drove it from Brownsville PA to Worcester MA with a stop (and some very light wheeling) at Rausch Creek in Tremont. 548 miles :cookoo: and I didn't even know how to drive stick when I started...
