Before I go to bed here, and maybe even get lucky if the wife anit asleep yet (yeah righht), I figure I would run this past you. I have a complete front end out of one of my M1009s I converted to a true 3/4-ton using the axles out of a '78 K20, and it is sitting there gathering dust. It is...
It looks like you might have been fortunate enough to be able to reuse the spindle and hub if that is grease I see on the rollers still. I had one melt on one of my first 3/4-ton trucks once that not only spun the race and ruined the hub, but also gouged up the spindle so it had to be replaced...
Er, I wouldn't get happy quite yet there little brother, you have yet to finger out the problem-o...
If you ate a roller cage up, chances are you will need not only the bearings, but hub and spindle as well. I might have an extra set on hand from one of my M1009s I converted to a true 3/4-ton...
Just look for the 1/2-ton 4-prong spindle nut socket at your local part store. Which store are you using?
If you want to do it the redneck way, you can try using the tip of an old flat tip screwdriver and a small hammer (Noticed I said small hammer). Just tap the hammer against the end of the...
They are 6 lug with 3.08:1 gear ratio. The axles are both 10-bolt corporate-design with a gov-loc in the rear for posi-traction.
I am wondering how hot that side got if the slider pin heads both broke off and yet they unscrewed using adjustable pliers - that's just plain wierd.
I would looke for an entire front end for that puppy at this point. If you broke the head off a slider pin, I can't imagine how I would get that thing loose. Also, corporate 10-bolts are a dime/dozen.
Have you tried Lowe's? They have a selection of long bars there with different ends on them, usually around where you find the shovels and axes and stuff like that.
It sounds like you are treating this as an open wound, but from the pics, wouldn't you classify it as a closed wound unless the nail is debrided? A closed wound is perfect for breeding an abscess, so wouldn't hot epsom salts work better? Sort of like mimicking a fever at the site, which bacteria...
The caliper is the big thingy holding the pads against the rotor. The big round bulg is where the piston inside is llocated. Sometimes if you give it a good wack with a small hammer when it is cold, it will free itself enough to let you get home. If not, you can borrow our raft to get the auto...
I finally won 4 M105A3 trailers and another pair of A2s as well for very decent prices. Yipee! Now I can bob the deuces I have been collecting... Good things come to those who wait.
I would guess it is the caliper piston sticking. They get a little rusty inside the chammber the are sitting in and then start sticking, especially when they get hot. The good new is they are very cheap to buy rebuilt from any of the parts houses like Advanced, NAPA or O'Reilly's. I think the...
Very interesting info to say the least. I wonder if my great-great Uncle was in on the design of the multi-fuel. Here is his bio: Roscoe Fletcher Good, Admiral, United States Navy
What goes around comes around. That fat lazy cow gives birth to many low-income children so she can buy her flatscreen TV. In turn, those little chil'ren grow up to enlist in the military where they will go fight for our country and get slaughtered as needed. If there aint a war to fight, don't...
My Neighbor in Alabama is a retired corrections officer who tells me the fine is $25k! I'm glad i can go to the Army Reserves fort nearby and buy regular diesel for the same price as off-road.
Soak it in some epsom salts 2 or 3 times per day with water as hot as you can stand. Do this for about a week, and you can be sure to keep your toe, provided you do not have diabetes. If you do have diabetes, you need to see a doctor immediately. I'm not doctor or nurse, BTW, but I am a...
If I lived a little closer I would be happy to do it for about $200 plus fuel. However, my closest house to Ft. Meade is the one in Alabama, and it is 736 miles away. If you have a pickup truck, or access to one, have you thought about buying or renting a tow dolly. I bought one a few years ago...
