For some reason, this thread now reminds me of a joke...
This city lawyer gets tired of the ratrace, quits his job, sells his house and buys a cabin out in the mountains.
He's out there for about a month and has a knock at the door. When he answers it, there is a scragly older man with a beard...
That's ok, my family has been trapping gators for the state for 15 years now, and I've never met a gator I did not like. Only problem is, Gucci has decided to buy hides only from Louisiana now, and has forced many of the trappers to give up thier livelyhood.
I found a bunch of live M16 rounds in one of mine in that hole. So much for the "No brass, No ammo sergeant" we all had to say in basic training at the firing range.
Ahh... yes. Sale 5073. I never will forget that number. It will be with me until the day I die. Had 4 deuces on that sale. The almanac said be ready for a long wait, but I didn't pay attentionto the almanac that year. Wish I had.
Since then, I have been a real pain in the arse to GL as soon as...

Man, I feel for you. I hate that sinking feeling when I am getting close to finishing a job, and start thinking to myself how smooth it went, only to realize I left a part off that goes on under everything else, and basically need to go back to square one, do not pass go, do not collect $200. If...
Have you tried spraying the rim edges and tire edges down with silicon oil? It works great for making them slip off and on. I had to change out some 16.5" rims with my HUMVEE tires, and the silicon oil made it possible to do it without a machine.
Yeah, I think I mentioned that...
If you do try the pull-the-steeringwheel method, let us know how it goes. I have never been one to try the square peg into the round hole, but have heard tales it can be done. I know for a fact the spilines inside the wheel are made to fit onto the shaft in one...
Look in your want ads and any classified ads like "Buy/Sell Bulletin" or "The Swapper" are what we have in Alabama. You'll almost surely be able to find an old chevy K20 with the set up that is a perfect swap for your M1009. I found a 1978 K20 with no engine or transmission and missing doors...
