Not sure what you mean by " sequential shifter" but anything can be done given enough time and money, and a little bit of money as well.
Did I mention money also?
With modern fuels I'd bump that to at least 10 deg BTDC. Backfiring could be several things, but make certain the points are gapped correctly . Vertronix makes an electronic replacement for the points plate that works very nicely ( I put one in mine)
Let's look at this realistically and honestly.........in my younger days I would have thought nothing of humping 400 lb wheel/tire assemblies on and off. Now in my 60's it's sure as heck NOT
worth getting hurt over or being in pain for 3 weeks. Could I still do it? Yes...….. would I? NO ****...
you've got the leads on one of the headlamps switched bass ackwards. What brand lights are they? Hopefully something like Trucklamp not that chicom junk :p
Don't do it ! Sacrilege to hack up a piece of history because you want to drive an old ambulance on the highway.
Sell it and buy yourself a new Tahoe, paint crosses on it if you want, **** I'll even help you!
Well I got all the mechanicals finished, and it was in it's first parade ! Also installed the Vertronix pointless system and it was a nice upgrade. ( yes I'm keeping the points plate in case down the road I sell it). Also was able
to get the correct radios which I'll install over the winter...
Ok guys, I wanted to thank everyone for the help and to post and update. I was able to get an RT-66, a PP-112 power supply, and also a MT 299 mount. Not sure if they work and I don't really care at this time.
Winter project will be to install them and clean up the interior and new seat cushions.
Karl is correct, you're doing more harm than good by occasional startups. IF you are going to start it then by all means drive it 20 miles otherwise simply leave it. Add some antigel OR about a half gallon of gas per tank, leave battery tenders on and PUT MOUSETRAPS INSIDE or they'll chew on fun...
Another way to do that is simply overfill the crankcase so oil is at pump level. Start engine and as soon as you have oil pressure, shut it off and drain excess.
