I do believe at least some of my drums are a bit egg shaped. More than likely my shoes are worn unevenly also. The truck stops good. But, I think it could be a bit better. One day I'll have the drums turned and my shoes replaced. One day when I'm not busy rebuilding the rest of it.
I don't know what it is about my truck but my front brakes will adjust perfectly and my rear 2 axles I just gotta get as close as I can. I have disassembled and cleaned everything with no change. Maybe if I started with brand new shoes it would help but there's too much meat on them to worry...
O ok. Didn't know if Eastwood had their own branded product. I know they have their own brand of other things.
You can also buy por 15 products directly from their website. Again, I don't know who has it cheaper.
The literature I found on the oa331 said fully dressed the engine weighs 872 pounds and with transmission it weighs just shy of 1200 pounds.
A fully dressed multifuel is about 1700 pounds without a transmission.
Mine did the exact same thing. If I stayed on the throttle I had no problems. Push the clutch in to shift and it would surge. Took my ip off and had it rebuilt. Aside from it leaking everywhere a governor weight had broken off causing the surging.
If I were you I would contact tmamerica and get his bracket kit to convert to a civilian delco 27si alternater. Brackets and alternater together will be half or less than half of a n.o.s. military alternater.
That and if it ever dies any local starter and alternater shop can rebuild it....CHEAP.
True for the walking beam. Though after building a truck with air ride from a freightliner I wouldn't hesitate to use that again. Had less than $500 in the entire tandem assembly. It worked amazing too.
I would clean all of them. Make sure you have good star washers under all of the bolts.
Another thing to check is the wiring and sockets inside the light housing itself. You may have a loose bulb rattling around in there.
