Thanks Josh, I'll do it. I know where you live. The tire guys pointed out your truck to me.
It's a local landmark.
I think it is because they are a newer design that are relatively rare in collector hands at the moment. Remember what an m923 cost two years ago? About three times what you...
Aren't there enough pallets of <undisclosed objects> in New Jersey? You guys have all the great truck deals there.
All we have here is a few piddling pallets of <undisclosed stuff> to fight over. (sniff)
No such thing as overkill when it comes to putting tires on a truck.
My dad always says I over do things. Wait till he sees the 5-Ton with 1600:20s on it.
I have known several guys who got burned on deuces with no title or sf97. The trucks ended up getting parted out.
Run. Away.
There are lots of good trucks out there with good paperwork.
Those wheels look like they would fit a five ton. Aren't there lots of those in California? You are close to Hundred Dollar Man, he is a great guy to deal with and he sells lots of wheels and tires to folks up here in the Great White North.
Great looking m818, great thread!
I have learned a lot and I thought I knew a little about winching. The scotch anchors, never have seen that done and could have used that a few times when pulling out stuck dozers.
Thanks all for contributing!
Our code enforcement lady is nice. A real Lady. She says she has seen me driving my truck and knows that I do it regularly.
Here's a real palm slap to the forehead moment: I asked her if I could park the 5-Ton in the driveway with it sticking out into the sidewalk a bit. It was explained to me...
If you do solder, make a secure mechanical connection first. Recommend the Lineman's Splice AKA Western Union Splice.
Here's a couple of links that show how. Prefer the first method with solder.

OK, I am going to make a W.A.G. here.
If the bolt had any play in it, when the motor was revved it could have given a little more sideways snap/yank to the balancer that it wasn't designed for.
Either that or your first guess was right, that it just broke for the **** of it. Say metal...
OK, I give up. What is the "HH"? Given the context, not enough clues for me to decipher.
And thanks for the followup post letting us know what fixed it.
When I access the site with Verizon 3G it is slower, because 3G is way slower than my cable internet.
With cable internet it is slower for posts to process than most sites, but nothing to complain about.
When the site or the web host is under heavy load then it does run a bit slower than some...
As others have said, the Hobart and Miller welders are great. For daily and heavier use the 240v welders are much better. If it is for occasional use and nothing over 1/4" [and that is stretching it] a 120vac welder will work fine.
I watched CL and bought a Lincoln 120vac welder for home use...
The same thing will happen to the 939 series 5-Tons. Right now they are dirt cheap, but rows of them are getting parked in fields, plenty going to the scrapper, and in a year or three the price will triple. Which is still not that much.
Have you considered a 5-Ton? Half the price of the deuces...
