The only way to keep them fresh is to connect them to a good quality float charger. I use the battery tender brand and for example still using a 7 year old battery in my motorcycle that only gets ridden occasionally.
That ^^ is a very cool idea. Would work great around farm or fleet.
My deuce came with two red top Optimas from DRMO about 3 years ago and no problems to report. Maybe they are the older ones that aren't made in Mexico. I do keep a float charger on them most of the time.
When they do...
That's a nice Caterpillar, but it is built for dirt work, not for out in the woods. No Winch = Trouble.
I'd hate to have to explain just how I know that.
I have the 3" socket and am close by. The bearing house that has those is about two miles from you. They won't be open on Saturday though. I will make a couple of calls and then call you.
Edit: Called a couple of friends, ~might have a spindle and some bearings, will find out in the morning for...
That is a great idea Josh, and a generous offer. Here is another possibility that might get some of the Newberg and Hillsboro guys out. McKenzie Pub in Sherwood has great food, beer, and a very big parking lot.
The questions you ask are the most common ones, and they have all been answered and rehashed repeatedly.
Recommend spending a couple of days reading here and you will quickly run out of questions or else come up with some new and interesting ones.
So there is no ridicule here, just...
What I do:
1. Call insurance company with VIN from paid receipt and get proof of insurance.
2. Go to DMV with proof of insurance and obtain temporary permit.
3. Go get truck. Drive if it checks out operable and safe. Tow or haul if not.
I absolutely do not want myself or my family to be on...
Diesel ~used to keep for a long time. The unblended diesel still does if you treat it with a biocide so the black algae won't grow.
Here in Progressive Oregon though, most of the diesel sold is 15% biodiesel. Which is just wonderful, all puppies and rainbows except for the fact that the bio...
Look real close on that 3 prong connector for a Nema number Don. It looks just like the receptacles I used to install for welders in industrial plants, but they were usually 4 prongs.
Once you have a NEMA configuration you can get a matching plug from the electrical wholesale house. If you do...
Plan B Bar on 8th & Main has plenty of deuce parking. The reason I mentioned Jolly Roger is Young Gun and I had a burger there the other day and it was. Awful. My fault, I picked the place
I talked to the weigh master for Clackamas county. He said they are only interested in commercial trucks, and the MVs and hobby trucks just get in their way. The reason their heads snap as we drive by the scale is that the trucks are cool. And they like cool trucks.
OK. I'm in. As long as it's not the Jolly Roger
There are a bunch of great guys in the Portland area. We just haven't got all of us in the same;;; bar?
I have met a bunch of great guys that are here in north Oregon but all separately. All of them like beer.
I will make a few phone calls...
