    That was dumb....

All great ^^ advice. Can you post a picture of it? Might be another way to jury rig something if you don't / can't get it welded or find something. Might be able to fab up a new one from steel for example.

LOL..Just saw this at Army base..Deuce Kills

I think a silhouette of a Prius would look nice on a deuce door. Will see if I can find one...

When do you hate your 5 ton !

I hate it when I get up in the morning and my back is sore as **** from the lousy seat. The deuce seat isn't fancy, but it doesn't do that.

    $400 a gallon

The $45 for the bolt is in consideration for the fact that aircraft parts have to come from a certified vendor that gets the parts tested, has to guarantee the metallurgy of the bolt, can't be made in China, etc. It is an expensive process that is intended to guarantee that the multimillion...

    Setup for deep snow?

I would recommend the 395s 6x6 for snow. I had Laclede custom make a set of four chains, one set for front and one for rear. With 395s there is barely enough room for one set of chains to clear in the back and you have to be going very slow. You will need power steering off road to get very...

    M923 Battery Redux

Two batteries in series will start it in decent weather. Don't figure on starting it with two batteries if it is really cold. My m923 is driven several times a week and mechanically is pretty tight, but I had to crank it a long time the other day and it was just below freezing. You could always...

    Transporting a 5-ton 200 miles from base

Sparta is a good location, they sell a lot of trucks there. I would budget $2 per mile one way. BTW, thanks for hosting all those manuals online. I really appreciate it.

    M747 destroyed by crooks

Get that video QUICKLY. Those video recorders only hold a few days video, at most 10 days or so. Then the old video gets overwritten. If you don't get it copied ASAP, it will be gone.

    Oregon M35A2

I could do that. Some steep hills between Roseburg and there but would be fun going downhill

    Oregon M35A2

My M35a2 was exactly like this before I turned up the fuel a turn. Once the fuel was turned up it always starts quickly and without any throttle needed. Sounds like the droop screw might be the issue though? That was me. Had lunch at Bocci's. I eat lunch ~all the time at Nosh just down the...

    Deuce Blasting truck

You won't just work the pump too hard, you won't get any work done. The air compressor on trucks is like the compressors they make to run nail guns. High pressure, low volume. For painting and blasting you need a high volume air compressor.

    M923A1 Insurance

Safeco. About $12 per month. You will need a professional insurance agent, not some idiot fill in the blank type. The first time an agent says they can't, reply "NEXT".

    insurence!! ahhh

Safeco. An actual professional insurance agent can get coverage for you.

More Power From NHC 250 in M939 Series Trucks With Allison Transmissions

So how about that Allison MT 654? Will it stand up to 350/400 HP? Allison says it is rated for 300 HP and 960 ft lbs torque? Thoughts on this? I don't mean for heavy use, but as a hobby truck, occasional hauling driven reasonably. How tough are those Allisons?

More Power From NHC 250 in M939 Series Trucks With Allison Transmissions

Really. Thanks for the long ^^ winded reply, great information. My use would be occasional, not daily, so turbo and bigger injectors would probably be fine. I won't be working it hard and I drive my rigs easy. So any thoughts on the Allison MT 654 and 350-400 HP? I know they put the MT 750...

More Power From NHC 250 in M939 Series Trucks With Allison Transmissions

Ouch. What a shame chopping them up like that. I had been watching the auctions for 400s in the crate, but better to get one out of a working truck with a matching transmission. I like the idea as I could also get a front spring back and shackles at the same time. Please don't ask what sort of...

More Power From NHC 250 in M939 Series Trucks With Allison Transmissions

The flood of M939 series trucks has started, and we have a new toy to play with. After having read ~all of the related threads on M939 series trucks, motors, transmissions, there seems to be some room for a separate discussion of how to get more power out of the NHC 250 when it is installed in...

    Allison Transmission

Got a call back from the Allison dealer this morning. The problem with the shifting was due to the wrong shift cable bracket. They modified the bracket to fit properly and adjusted the shifting and it works fine. I see that the early 900 series trucks had an MT 500 series transmission. This one...
