    sudden oversupply of m923's ??

Looks like I won't have to get a CDL after all  Oregon's requirements: "Generally, you must have a CDL to operate a motor vehicle on highways or premises open to the public in Oregon if the gross vehicle weight or gross vehicle weight rating is greater than 26,000 pounds, the vehicle...

    Allison Transmission Fluid Research

Probably the best thing you can do is change it. Unless you have a service record of the last change. Once you change it, you will know. I think I am going to go with 15-40, as it will work in the motor too.

I would gladly volunteer to moderate if I were allowed to focus on deleting whining and bitching posts. I wouldn't mind if it were a thankless job. The satisfaction derived from cleaning up a mess would be more than enough reward. Whack! Where's that cool red hammer? I think I would start...

Comments on servicing my newly acquired M923

If you are only going to pull with the 923 then changing bulbs to 24v is the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to go. I was thinking that you still needed to pull the trailer with other vehicles, hence the LED recommendation.

Comments on servicing my newly acquired M923

There's a couple of things you can do. You can change out the lights for LEDs which at lest the Grote brand can take either 24vdc or 12vdc. Go with a female plug on the trailer and two different cables to hook to the different trucks. Then you don't have to change anything on the m923. Much...

    Fuel Tank Straps

I like m816's idea of how to make the straps. I don't know how he fastened them but I can tell you what would work well. Copper harness rivets. You wouldn't even need to use the copper washer, and they are soft enough that they wouldn't wear through the tank if they rubbed. Just drill a hole...

    M923 air leak

I don't know what that thing is but I have been reading the TM in preparation for the m923 I am picking up next week. Will see if I can find anything. Igor Chudov is a member here, and has the Technical Manuals put out there for anyone who wants them. Thanks Igor! Here is a link to a search...

    Bounce bounce?

I was experiencing severe bounce in my deuce after putting on 395s. It seemed to really get bad when I reached 50MPH. Experimenting with tire pressure got me to 35 PSI and that has been working well for a couple of years. It is ~not too low, these are such heavy tires and designed for a much...

    Driving through Central America

I haven't replaced the stock fuel filters on my deuce as the fuel here is pretty clean, but for a trip like that I would put on a Racor or similar spin on filter setup. What kind of bike are you going to bring? I would probably go with a Honda dual sport as parts are widely available. Probably...

    Driving through Central America

Think Chicken Bus. You can go anywhere they can and then some. Every police officer and soldier along the way will want to have a conversation with you about your "militar". If that doesn't bother you then go for it! Bring lots of fuel filters :-D I have a place you can camp at in Nicaragua...

May have screwed the pooch with WMO

Seems like the potential issue of injector and pump wear due to carbon and metal particles has not been mentioned in this thread. Just because the deuce will burn WMO or crude oil or hot chicken fat doesn't mean that it is a good idea. WMO usually contains a high concentration of carbon and...

    How to sell generator

Take some nice pictures and put it on Craigslist. A 15kw diesel generator new can be had for around 10k. Try it at around $4500 and it will probably sell.
