What he said.
I spent two days reading before I ever posted anything. Was well worth my time. I still broke the rules/annoyed a mod a time or three, got smacked, got over it.
The noise to signal ratio on this site is pretty good and I appreciate it.
I am pretty annoyed by the spurious thread...
Any gasoline you buy in cans and don't use immediately such as in an automobile, should be unblended AKA Non-Ethanol regular or premium.
R.E. Powell in Pasco sells racing fuel. Spendy but won't eat the float in your genny. Also aviation fuel is unblended.
The only exemption in the Washington...
So I ended up buying a Woodmizer LT-15 sawmill. It is powered by a 15 HP Kohler engine. It is a good engine but I would prefer diesel.
Does anyone have one of the Farymann diesels they would like to sell?
Derf, would you please post up photos of how you hooked it up? Wire numbers or points where you made the connections would be a huge help.
Also, how/where did you make the taps for 120/240 with neutral?
Thanks!

If it will run at all, it will run with fresh batteries and fresh fuel to the injector pump.
$4500 is a long ways in price drop for a fuel bleed out and jump start.
Awful lot of unknowns, maybe the seller is desperate, or maybe it needs $4500 in repairs to run.
If you are new to these...
Great point. Concise.
Fantastic idea. Love it. Take tank off of mig welder. Purge fuel tank with CO2. No oxidation.
Best fuel storage idea of the year
I would like to keep some fuel on hand for my generator, and don't plan on turning the fuel over very frequently.
I found a cheap source of B100 biodiesel then learned that it is not stable in long term storage. It oxidizes.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, bio blends are now mandated by law...
Long Term Fuel Storage
This thread already has a lot of good information and seems like a good place to pose a question for the experts:
Is there any way to stabilize the B5 [5% biodiesel blend] mandated by law here in the NW for long term storage?
I would like to keep a full fuel tank for my...
It is a very simple hookup, thanks. The problem was, I couldn't even FIND the high voltage regulator. I could only find the battery charging regulator. That and the wiring diagram in the TM was largely fiction.
If you have one taken apart, I saw a chart the other day I could re-find that tells how to determine the SAE bellhousing size by the measurements.
Edit: I refound it
This link is dead
It was too difficult for me to figure out, so I took it to a generator shop. I will post up photos and a corrected wiring diagram when I get it back, to help all those out there with the same problem.
That is what I am thinking. Who was it in Hillsboro that got a pair from the same sale? I think one of his was bad too.
My replacement voltage regulator just came. Evidently the AVR most popular for fixing the 701a/016b is the SX460.
What is interesting is that is exactly the AVR that is in my...
Of the 4 MEP-701a generators I bought, two worked fine with a new battery. Of the other two, one needed a voltage regulator but runs fine, and one had a bad IP.
Two trailers, each had one working generator and one that needed repairs.
