My 27MT had been completely gone through with all of the correct 24v parts. For some odd reason it kept frying a bendix and we could not figure out why.
Aaand that's why I want to eventually swap the gears to a 4:10 set up. With a BFG KM2 or Toyo MT 255 85 16 I can run 64-65mph at 2500 rpm. That way I can keep from getting ran over on the interstate and still have low gearing for when I need it. My 79 K20 has this set up and works just fine.
My 27MT has the correct bendix in it along with the correct solenoid... and for whatever reason it has a healthy appetite for any bendix that goes in there. At this point I'm tired of messing with it. After talking to the shop they ordered a 28MT starter for me. Idk the brand name, but it is new...
Yup, the parts house sent #MF0030 which was the wrong pump. The correct CHFP906 has been ordered. Once again thank you for the vital info.
** the inj pump was just rebuilt, so I'm guessing it was somehow pulling a little bit of fuel through the line🤷♂️
