As I mentioned in the thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/military-vehicle-road-trips/45602-road-trip-dfw-chester-il-dec-26-jan-9-a.html , the engine has not run very smoothly, was almost impossible to start without ether, and would not keep prime after 45 minutes.
Here are pictures of the PT...
Not shifting might be a broken part in the transmission. Might be a messed up clutch. No way to tell if it is serious.. you will probably have to pull the transmission to find out, which is a very very heavy item. I hope there is a deep discount for this problem. I would not consider it minor...
News of the weird - - The pressure-time pump (injection pump for the non-cummins folks) is destroyed. Inside was found all the components chewed up very badly and the pump shop says it is full of what looks like copper or brass debris. Apparently something was left inside when the pump was...
I am very impressed! How do you like the "vacuum cleaner in a tornado" sound of the amplifier's 400Hz external blower? It can be slowed down with a resistor if you wish, just watch the internal temp of the amp does not get above about 120-140 deg F.
If non-WWII vehicle posts are found in the WWI and WWII Vehicles area, kindly report them. It will benefit everyone to keep things where they should be.
The pins on one I started to take apart were permanently (pretty much) attached to the wires. Best to cut the cable, bring out the individual wires, and attach to the approprate connector. Crimp them, then solder them. Some people say not to solder because a crimp is OK is properly done, but I...
I could not watch the video. It seems youtube or who have you is constantly demanding more and more bandwidth and bloating up the files. I could watch it if I could download it, but the old PC isnot up to playing it -and- simultaneously running all the other bazillion garbage scripts and junk on...
May I have your attention.
Moderators saw a post with a race/nationality slur.
That is forbidden and will get a member dis-membered if it becomes a problem.
We will strive in the forum to always use the proper names for various nationalities and peoples.
Thank you for your attention.
I do have it installed. I need to review it. Some youtube videos I can watch here, some not. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Quicktime plugin 7.0.1.210 These should be the latest.
My friend has asked:
I've been trying for several years to figure out which radios were used on the jeeps at Fort Gordon, GA during my MP training there in 1971.
The radios I remember had dynamotors, and I think they had a carbon mic. Some jeeps were also equipped with a separate receiver...
I didn't see this thread. hehe. I got 6 or 7 of them things sitting here. win95 can be crammed into them, even into the 386 model with 4MB memory and then they work nicely on a network.. Loaded via the scsi CD drive. takes a while. The biggest obstacle I have run into is the cases for the hard...
I saw those, but I don't have the equipment necessary to fabricate the rest of the system.
The wheel will be OK to handle outside, just flop it down on the gate. The idea for the hoist is to pick up up the wheel and handle the tire inside the box, as well as (with a lengthy winch cable) have an...
