I'd be interested in testing one out. I use a long wrench on my M35A2s, but the M109A3s could benefit from the mod. I usually send my 13yr old son under to drain the air, so he'd appreciate it!

The ones from NAPA should fit perfectly. Are you recessing the gasket into the groove? The outer edge of the gasket should be hidden from view as it is recessed into the groove around the filter base.

If you look at the auction photos carefully, you will see they were ALL running when the photos were taken. Most had 1/2 to 3/4 full fuel tanks (if the gauges are right!). Even the trucks that looked rough had new parts under the hood or in the cab. A few had new steering wheels and columns...

I too am curious what controls the actual "ON" time. I have one '86 m1009 where the light is on for maybe 3 secs and a 2nd '86 m1009 where the light stays on for 8-10. Is it time controlled in the GP circuit board or is there a sensor reading that determines when it shuts off or cycles...
