    GL expanding it's advertisement budget.

GL has always covered many pages of the Ambassador Issue. I did notice this time that they didn't come out and say it but they were inferring on one ad that you could purchase HMMWVs (whole) and armor from them. Could be bordering of false advertisement, IMO I've seen HMMWV pics in a bunch of...

    Govdeals website problems?

Must be on my end then. Edit- I tried it with IE and it opened fine. It still won't work with Chrome.

    Govdeals website problems?

I've tried to get on Govdeals for several days. Every time I try to go there all I get is "the site is down for maintenance for about a hour". I'm just starting to wonder if it's something on my end or if the site is having major problems. They are owned by the same people as GL and I can't...

I was Stuck in the mud

I'm very careful with even my deuce going through deep mud if there's not a good anchor point for the winch nearby. It takes something to get these big trucks out and most of the time you're the biggest truck at the party. It is funny how you can spend all day pulling pickups and jeeps out of...

I was Stuck in the mud

If you can get enough snatch blocks on it, that 9500lb winch will do the job. If you have a good anchor point and a 4 part line, I'm fairly certain you can get it out with a 9,500lb winch. You could even use a come-a-long if you have enough snatch blocks.

    gringeltaube

I have trouble spelling it also. That's why he's simply known as "G". It is funny that I can post G in a post and anybody that's been around here for more than a couple of days will know who I'm talking about.

    Here's My MEP-002A/3A Set-Up

We don't need to hijack this thread but I wish you would start a thread on what happened here. I'd like to know so I don't suffer the same fate.

Thousands of HMMWV may actually be sold to public; not a rumor

I just wonder what the "certify DOT specs" means? Seems like whoever buys these and gets them up to DOT specs (whatever they are) is going to be holding the bag for any liability issues with the modifications. Seeing as how the NHTSA has already deemed these vehicles unsafe, it's not going to...

Thousands of HMMWV may actually be sold to public; not a rumor

I agree. If they selling whole HMMWVs straight from GL right now, I venture to say you could pick up a runner for around 10K (maybe less). I'd be in if that was the case. If somebody buys these HMMWVs and brings them up to current standards, it will probably cost prohibitive. That's why you...

New Member, 1st post, new truck, and THANKS!!

Welcome from middle TN. Most of the M939 trucks are hard shifting from high to low. I always disable the transfer case interlock and it helps the shifting a bunch.

    What EGT Gauge to use?

I'm using a 12v Autometer pyro. I actually ordered it by mistake thinking it was one that required no power. I found out that you can buy a $3 part at Radio Shack that will convert 24V to 12V for small loads (2 amp or less). Wired that in and used the 12v gauge.

Idea to stop wet stacking automatically

Personally, I think the wet stacking issue is overrated. Can it happen, yes. Will it happen if you let the genset run with a light load for a couple of hours, no. We've ran diesel farm tractors for several days with little load running a grain auger without ill effects. Unless you're running...

    New GL delivery service

WM, what amazed me in that vid is the pallet seemed to survive the crash in mostly one piece from what I can tell.

Rebuild a front axle engagement air valve?

I don't have a Napa part number but I've got a civilian truck with a air tag axle. It takes the exact same switch to control the tag axle that the deuce uses for the air shift t-case. I just had to replace said switch awhile back and Napa had it in stock. Just take your old one off and take it...

Can 2 m923 trucks without tarp & bows fit on one transport trailer?

We used to build what we called grader ramps (to haul long road graders) on the necks of Phelan lowboy trailers. I'd say you'd add more than a couple of hundred pounds building something where you could drive on the neck.. Although is't not ideal, you could do something like we used to do on...

    M939 Series Maintenance Manuals

I prefer paper manuals myself when I'm in the shop. I checked one time at Staples about printing some out, I don't recall the price per page but you can usually find them cheaper on ebay than you can get them printed for. What I usually do if I don't have a paper manual is to just print off the...

Rebuild a front axle engagement air valve?

They don't cost all that much and you can find a comparable switch at NAPA. I'd just swap it for a new one.

    Rear winch warning

It's a rear winch off of a wrecker but it's actually mounted behind the cab of a KW truck and driven hydraulically.
