Air dryers work great if installed correctly. On our civilian trucks at work, every one of the trucks that don't have air dryers have caused us trouble this winter (even if draining the tanks every day). The ones with air dryers haven't had any problems and we don't even drain the tanks on...
I'm unsure about this state but in TN any licensed towing company can do the "abandoned vehicle" paperwork. After all the paperwork is done, they can get a new title.
I've done this on several vehicles. There's a guy that owns a towing company that rents a lot form me, he handles the paperwork...
Are you looking to purchase from a individual or from government surplus?
If it's from government surplus I'd strongly recommend you preview before you buy and either take somebody with you that knows about these generators or get educated yourself.
From what I've noticed, GL prices are all...
My shop is quite a bit bigger than my house. When I bought my property building the shop was first on the agenda before the house. I wasn't married back then though.
Honestly, if I were single and could either have a house or a shop but couldn't have both, I'd take the shop and throw a cot in it.
I myself have a love/hate relationship with Detroits.
I hate them because they are loud, leak oil everywhere, and have no low end torque (I don't care what the spec sheet says, I've driven plenty of them). I do have several pieces of equipment with Detroits in them though and they do seem to...
I back up in low all the time in my M939 truck. The key is not to be "dogging" it in low. If I'm going forward in low range, I don't bother with shifting the t-case if I'm going to back up.
I do my lime spreading in low range because I have to travel a certain speed and keep the RPMs up the...
If you only need to remove a outside back wheel, you can use a block of wood. Run the inside tire upon the block and it will raise the outside tire off the ground where you can remove it. It's always best to use a proper jack and jack stands or cribbing but if you're out in the boonies and need...
I doubt the 16" wheel you speak of will clear the brake drums without mounting them "backwards". The easiest thing to do is find some M1061 wheels and tires like 3dAngus said.
I've been fooling with my 003 today, trying to get the DC charging system to work. After testing I think maybe my DCVR and the stator are bad, in other words, my whole DC charging system is junk.
I've priced a DCVR and haven't located a stator yet. It seems this stuff is getting kind of hard to...
Make sure your fuel solenoid is working. Mine tends to stick in the closed position if it sets for very long. I've been planning to get a new one but you can take it off, clean and lube it up, and it will work again until it sets for a month or so.
CA law goes way above and beyond what the feds require. According to federal law, you can drive a 5-ton for personal use without a CDL. I dare say AZ laws are much more lenient than CA when it comes to CDL.
I have all my GL purchases hauled home, I just think it's best considering what you're dealing with.
On a side note, are out of state drivers required to abide by CA CDL law if just passing through? I know here in TN, if I travel to KY, they are ok with me violating some of their laws as long...
