Some of the 916's that came up on GL in California had Allison auto's in them. I am
not for sure but I believe these were Marine Corps Trucks. Again not for sure but I
heard that they only run about 45mph? Those trucks brought a higher price than most
of the 916s I've seen go with the Cat 7155.
Bruce,
Thanks for the info, I had already talked to the GL rep and found out about the once a month load out, unless (according to him) there is 3 or more people needing to recover lots, then he might make a second load out date. I had asked if he could "try" to let me know two weeks in...
m172A1 Lowboy
If I am not mistaken isnt the M172A1 lowboy over width at 105" or so?
I know here in New Mexico we have to get an oversize permit for just to run
the trailer down the road empty. Do you have to have an over width permit
in your state or the other states you are permitted in? I...
Congrats on you M915A1 Win!
Just wanted to say congrats on your win. I finally won an M915A1 at Topeka
after bidding on about 15 in various places. I wish mine had been as low bid as yours. Now all that stands between me and mine is the pending EUC clearance
and 800+/- miles! My M915A1 is my...
I was just wanting to know the best way to tow an M915A1 would be
to drop the driveline or pull the axles or maybe both??? Towwing would
be several hundred miles. I have seen the older trucks with Detroit Locker
Equipped stickers on the door panels, are these in all the trucks? Thanks!
If I am not mistaken I believe Memphis Equipment was advertising them for $1600. I dont remember for sure. I not sure either if they are N.O.S. or a reproduction either???? I have seen the one piece fiberglass tops for 500-700 new, but I dont like the looks of them at all.
I guess one would be...
Did anyone here win the bid(s) on the two sand color M871 trailers
Lots #7804 or 7806 in Hooks, TX on 8/19/10??? If so would like totalk about
one. Thanks!
This particular truck was the M915A1 with the Allison auto in it. The ones
that came up at Holloman were the 915 with Cat trannys. And yes they had been neglected missing parts and an inch of dust/dirt inside the cabs. As far as plates and all the legal stuff, thats kinda up in the air. This...
I currently only have a cellular line. I have two homes so that just makes it easier than having two landline phones. I suppose its not possible to use a
landline say at my fathers home???
That is an option! I might try to aquire an m871 trailer, thats something I want, and don't have to have it tomarrow, so it would be bad waiting on
the EUC to clear. That would make waitin for a truck EUC much shorter than
the current 9 week ave for new buyers.
I was wondering if the fact that I hold a class A CDL with hazardous material
endorsement on it, and have to be electroniclly fingerprinted and pass the FBI
back ground check to hold this endorsement. Would that speed up the EUC
clearance any? I have not won any auctions that require submitting...
Hello everyone, I just wanted to share some photos of an M915A1 Tractor
I spotted on the near by Indian reservation. It is nearly perfect condition,
painted 3 color camo. This is the only M915A1 that I have seen in New Mexico
that was not in the hands of the military. The sad part is this is the...
After I get my hands on at least one M915A1 tractor and get my Duece traded for I plan on trying to aquire a wrecker. I would preffer an m543A2 0r An M62A2 with the multi-fuel engine. Of corse I could live with an 816 if I had too! They are just so versitile! You can change an engine one day...
Hey Reb, Which one of the 915A1's did you get? I had an emergency and had to leave , I was out bid on the one I wanted. Most of them looked to be in very good shape judging by the photos. It was to far for me to go and preview them in person. if I had won one of them I was planning on a 780...
Those 915A1's are sure tempting! I want one so bad I can taste it. I wish
there were some closer to me than the ones at auction now. There are afew
915s with the cat tranny out here but they look rough, and I think the allison
tranny would fit my needs better.
Is there something wrong with the A1's? I am just wanting to haul nothing bigger than say a D4 Cat
and not far at that. Primairilly just want to get one and pair it with one of the M871 trailers for light hauling
and some heavy duty parade use.
